I used these to make a replacement part on my dirt bike. I pressed one into a strip of aluminum with a padded bench vise. I flared the back with a big punch and a hammer. This worked well for me.I know that these are supposed to be installed with a special press, but didn’t want to commit to the investment for a probable one-off job.The inserts themselves are excellent quality with smooth, well formed threads and consistency from one unit to the next. They look and feel like stainless steel.
