Worked great! This gave me more confidence in my threads since the original threads were aluminum

I recently had to change out my valve cover seal on the 2005 Corolla aluminum block. Aluminum is soft metal and can easily strip out. I used a torque wrench to make sure it was torqued to spec. All of them went in fine until the last one. My neighbor stopped to ask me what I was doing, and I over tightened the last bolt. I came on here looking for a helicoil when I came across these thread inserts. I figured I would give them a try. I'm glad I did. The kit is very easy to use. It came with clear, easy to follow instructions. All the pieces were nicely machined with a smooth finish and no burrs. I like that it came nicely packaged in a small plastic case. Before installing the insert, I did try it out with an M6 bolt. It screwed in really well. The bolt went in smoothly and didn't have any play. If you have a stripped out hole that needs threads, these work great. I've only had this installed for a few weeks, so I can't speak on how long it will last and hold up. The bolt is in tight and torqued to spec. I did add some orange threadlocker to the outside of the insert. I was going to use Red threadlocker, but I wanted to be able to get it out if something goes wrong with it. We will see how it is doing the next time I change out my plugs and coils. I forgot to get pictures of it installed, but I will also do that the next time I change the plugs and coils. If it lasts without deteriorating or rusting, then I will use a red threadlocker in the future for a permanent install.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure how these were gonna work but I use them on my 95 bronco. These are perfect. They really did the job they made life so much easier for us. I would definitely recommend these if you do any type of working on the car.

I was able easily fix pcv holes in my aluminum valve cover. Per instructions, thread lock is needed on inserts, which I did. The holes are now strip proof since the inserts are steel. I would purchase again.

Worth every penny. Used it to repair threads on an upper oil pan that hold the timing cover to an Audi 2.0L engine. Good as new, easily able to torque to factory spec. $70 was far better than buying $500 upper&lower oil pans and spending another full day under the car removing and resealing two additional covers just to replace buggered threads.

10 pack of inserts alongside a tap, drill, insert etc. Manufacturing is good and everything works well. For the price you can't go wrong with these IMO.

What a breath of fresh air these thread inserts are. I'm going to restock my whole shop with these. My first experience with thread repairs like this was on my old ford Triton spark plugs. That was like 15yrs ago and I couldn't believe how nice they worked. But they never did get popular for anything else. Finally I'm seeing these kits more and more everyday. They cost more than a helicoil kit but it's comparing apples to oranges. These are by far superior in every way. Take care of the tap and drills and they will last you a long time. These are a real and permanent repair.
