It grounds balls okay but an old shoe could check balls better. The pocket can’t hold balls and the finger holes are tiny.

Nice for price and this won’t be lost on baseball guys but being this glove was purchased for my son who is in the 10U class I had to really break it in as per tradition, my point here is depending on your child’s physical development may have a hard time closing the glove.TLDR break it in we got it right to where he could break it in himself through game and training use. Pretty stiff out of the box but for the price point you really can’t go wrong.

I still gave it 3 stars because the glove was pretty nice, leather palm, unsure of the brown sections, if it was or was not leather. But my son liked it because it broke in easily. I could have relaced the webbing, but was disappointed it breaking after only a few weeks. Again 3 stars because it is a nice glove, just cheap lacing.I will say, although it says for youth, I (father) could easily get my hand in there. I cannot get my hands in my son's other youth fielding gloves. The finger stalls are huge for youth, and so is the wrist area. With that being said, my 8 year old son could easily control the glove.

So I'm not sure what happened but I definitely did not get the same glove that was in the picture. The glove I got is a first base mitt but it doesn't look as good as the one in the picture.

I was kind of iffy about getting this mitt because Macgregor is no longer one of the top baseball glove/mitt makers anymore but this glove seems to be a great find. I bought it for my 10 year old son and he is catching everything with it. It took some getting use to and a little breaking in but he loves it now. It might be a little on the big size for him now but he will be using this glove for a few years. The quality seems to be just as good if not better than other expensive first base mitts. We will see how it works out once his season begins.
