About this item

  • 🔒 Secure Mounting: Ensure the diamond dresser is firmly mounted with minimal distance between the diamond and clamp to prevent vibration damage.
  • 🔄 Proper Angle: Maintain a 10-degree drag angle relative to the horizontal radius of the wheel, pointing in the same direction as the rotation.
  • ⚠️ Limit Depth: Do not insert the dresser more than 0.001” (0.025mm) per pass to prevent overheating and excessive wear.
  • ⚙️ Traverse Rate: Use a fast traverse rate for large stock removal and a slow traverse rate for a finer finish.
  • 🔄 Conical Point Preservation: Rotate the dresser at 20-40 degrees to maintain the conical point.
  • 💧 Coolant Usage: Always use coolant to prevent diamond cracking and overheating during dressing.
  • 🔥 Dry Dressing Caution: Avoid prolonged dry dressing; let the tool cool naturally to prevent future fractures.
  • 🚫 Avoid Shank Wear: Never wear the dresser down to the shank to prevent the diamond from falling out.
  • ❌ Prevent Flats: Avoid large flats on the cutting point to extend the diamond's lifespan.

A diamond dresser should be securely mounted into the holder, with minimal distance between the diamond and clamp to prevent vibration damage. The tool must never be directed opposite the rotation of the grinding wheel. Maintain a 10-degree drag angle relative to the wheel’s horizontal radius, pointing in the same direction as the wheel’s rotation to keep the diamond sharp. Do not insert the dresser into the wheel by more than 0.001” (0.025mm) per pass, as deeper cuts can cause overheating and excessive wear. A fast traverse dressing rate removes large stock, while a slower rate provides a finer finish. To preserve a conical point, rotate the dresser at 20-40 degrees in the holder. Always use coolant to prevent cracking, especially during dry dressing, to avoid high temperatures. Never wear the dresser down to the shank to prevent the diamond from falling out, and avoid creating large flats on the cutting point to extend its lifespan.
