Years ago I bought the 22 in Blackie Collins machete. It came with no sheath at the time. So I ordered the Ontario sheath on Amazon. It was basically thin cloth and junky. Recently I dug out that machete and discovered that the Ontario sheath was rotting. Found this and ordered. It exceeded my expectations

If you place a sharp machete in this case, it is stiff and retrieval is hard and it cuts the sheath.

I like that it fits my Navy issue 1941 machete. The issue date was Dec.2. The original canvas sheath was in bad shape after seventy years so I bought this as a replacement to protect the blade better. The first time I placed the blade into the sheath , the tip of the blade grabbed some type of cloth material that is inside the sheath and pushed it to the tip of the sheath. Now there is a ball of something bunched up at the tip that you can noticeably see and feel. It does cover the blade completely, but I wish I would have known there was a chance of grabbing some inside material and balling it up at the end. Pretty disappointed. It came in a soft envelope, so it was also slightly bent when it arrived. This could have been a factor in the point grabbing the inner material. I like the camo. but would have gladly paid more for something without the liner.
