I thought it would at least be designed to be paired with the same series of monitors... Nope. It's a low powered plastic piece of junk with a single jack input. There are actual studio grade subs with crossovers and power for the same money. I have no idea what Mackie were thinking here... Makes no sense at all as a device. Also, the one I got had such low input sensitivity I could barely hear any sound on full volume from multiple input sources... Junk of the highest order.

It's hard to get full sounding sub base out of a 6.5" speaker. While the CR6s did improve the low end for my CR Stealthbar, it struggled at low volume. I had to push the volume up before it really made a difference and this made everything sound over-boosted.Personally, I also didn't like that the multicolor lighting can't be turned off and found the touch volume controls to be unnecessary for a sub.I ended up exchanging it for the CR8s-XBT and MUCH happier.

I bought this sub to go with my CR5-XBT monitors. This sub is marketed as being compatible with all Mackie products. Not True!Per Mackie customer support:"Since the CR5-XBT speakers don't have an output besides the headphone output (Which would disable the output of the physical CR5-XBT speakers) There is unfortunately no way to connect the two units together.The CR6S-X was designed to be paired with a CR Stealthbar, CR2-X Bar Pro or the CR2-X as they all have a dedicated "Sub Out" as part of the built in outputs."I'm sending the sub back. Mackie is now 0 for 2 on their subs with me. I also sent back the CR8S-XBT model a while back because it didn't work.
