A great little scooter. You'll take for granted how smooth it is until you try a solid wheeled scooter again! The assembly isn't difficult, but the instructions are next to worthless, just some numbered, grainy, black and white pictures.(To get the wheel in past the break - you can pop out the break cable thingie from a holder. You do not have to take a break off.)Would be five stars if it was a faster wheel - at 40PSI max, an adult feels like the wheels are almost square. Would be great if it was a more sporty 85 PSI, or if there was another model, or a wheel / tire that could be purchased separately,

Received scooter today, which was 2 days earlier than originally expected. Took about an hour to assemble, but I move slow due to Osteoarthritis. Seems like a solid scooter! Love the air-filled tires, very smooth ride. And I love the handbrake, it just makes slowing down easier. Finally, it's good looking and sporty, it doesn't look like a kids toy... which is awesome because this 55 year old chick will be riding the neighborhood on it!

The Madd Gear scooter is well constructed and was relatively easy to assemble, in spite of having only pictorial instructions. But everything was there in the box, including tools (!) and once assembled the scooter only needed bolts tightened and checking to make sure the handlebar with the brakes was aligned properly with the wheels, then it was good to go! The scooter is good looking, lightweight, stores well in an apartment or closet, is rated for 220 lbs, and morever is sized for adult riders too, with its good deck size and 12 inch pneumatic wheels. (which gave a much smoother and bump free ride) Finally the rear brake, activated by a front grip on the right handlebar, is smooth and provides confidence of a controlled stop at any reasonable speed. So I'm very happy with this Madd Gear scooter!

Seemed like awesome scooters. Bought two of them for my kids. My youngest rode it and complained it was scrapping. His is bent compared to my daughters and he's about 100lbs. Went to get it returned for a new one cause he loves it and return shipping is on the customer. I would get it if it wasn't a defect but it's clearly defective and this is the way they get out of replacing it.

My wife and I wanted scooters to ride with our kids so we got this one for my wife and she absolutely loves it. It’s the perfect size for her, smooth, stable, and the handbrake is very useful. It’s very well built. Assembly involves attaching the wheels and handlebar stem, and inflating the tires and you’re ready to scoot!

Just received it today. Easy assembly. Very Solid frame with handbrake and large 12 inch BMX type AIR tires. We initially bought another brand scooter with 'solid rubber' tires for our 10 year old son. The frame was good on that one, but the main problem was the 'solid rubber' 9 inch tires. Because the brake is on the rear tire there is less weight on it and therefore it skids easily and more often. After about 1-2 months of frequent riding, the rear tire developed a large flat spot that made the scooter unrideable. The manufacturer was only reachable through the question and answer part of on Amazon site. I could not find any other way to contact them outside Amazon. That was very frustrating because the manufacturer wanted me to put my address and telephone number on the Amazon Q&A section for that scooter, which I find an unacceptable method of obtaining a replacement tire. Therefore, I looked for a brand name scooter that had 'air filled' and larger 12 inch tires for ride stability over rocks and sidewalks. I also wanted a company here in the USA that was primarily scooters and would be easy to contact outside of Amazon to answer support and spare part questions. I came across this Madd Gear company. They have a complete company website outside of Amazon which is very good if you need the contact them directly. The scooter I received today from them is Rock Solid and my son loves it. It is reasonably priced for the high build quality. If you're buying a first scooter for your slightly older 8-12 child, I would highly recommend this model Madd Gear scooter. I would not recommend getting solid rubber tire scooters. While searching on the replacement tires, I came across other instances of people having the same flat spot issue and need to get replacement tires. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with the Madd Gear scooter. Rock solid construction, big air tires for stability over uneven terrain, nice handbrake for quick braking application (vs. the rear foot press brake that can confuse kids, especially if they need to stop quickly), and a nice tall height steering handle for taller kids. While it would nicer to have a rear 'disc' brake for greater general and wet stopping power, the caliper/rubber pad braking is fine for us because my son won't be riding the scooter in the rain. I imagine the caliber/pad braking system also makes rear tire replacement easier and less expensive.
