It's easy to apply and I haven't had issues with the ring coming off or anything. The magnet is strong enough that I haven't had issues with it coming off after slight bumps or anything.Overall, the Mag Filter has been a really good way to let me add a 52mm VND to my ZV1 MKII.

An excellent accessory to fit filters to Sony compact camera and with its magnetic fitting arrangement it snaps on or off easily as required. An invaluable bit of photographic kit.

Very useful for compact camera lenses that do not have threads. The magnet is too weak. It would be much better if it's stronger. I find it keeps coming off the lens.

I bought the 52MM MagFilter for a Sony RX100 Vii. It fits perfectly but does block out the lettering on the front of the lens if that is important to you. I also have a Sony RX10 IV and wanted to be able to swap polariser and variable ND filters between the cameras. A 52-72mm step down adapter allows the swap. You do have to carefully grip either of these filters when adjusting them as the MagFilter will spin as you rotate them if you don't. The MagFilter is strong enough to hold them to the RX100 VII though. Overall I'm impressed with the MagFilter but it would be nice if it could be somehow locked for rotating filters.

It's a little soon to say that this will work long-term, but I put the ring on two of my point-and-shoot cameras and it works great. It's hold is strong enough that I don't think it will come off in normal use (I wouldn't put it away with the filter holder on, it's not that strong) even with a conversion ring and a filter on it (all of my existing filters are much larger than 52mm, as large as 77mm). I had to fiddle with its position to get it perfectly centered, but in the end although the ring overlaps the extreme corners of the lens opening, there was no noticeable vignetting in the corners when the holder is attached.I'll put it through its paces in the weeks and months to come and come back with an update, but so far 100% success.

I was happy to finally find such a kit to add filters to my Sony HX10V point and shoot. Now I can shoot in manual mode for longer exposures of flowing water even on on bright days with an ND filter. And I look forward to less haze in mountain views and better sunny water shots with UV and CPL filters. I purchased the 52 mm version.I'm not sure why others are finding the magnet weak. I find it to hold the adapter and my new filters with a solid click, including a variable ND filter with some more bulk to it. It also easily holds a lens cap and hood (not pictured) that came with my filter set, although I doubt I'll use that much. The magnet is not intended as a strong, permanent mount to enable you to throw the camera in your pocket or a camera bag. Keep the adapter and a filter protected and snap it on when needed. The manufacturer uses a 3M brand adhesive for the mounting ring and this gives me confidence it will stay on. I used alcohol on a cotton tip to prepare the camera surface before applying the ring.I didn't realize that 52, 55, and 58 mm sizes all use the same mounting ring and that all would have fit my camera until I encountered a slight issue. The thickness of my variable ND filter body results in vignetting, so I need to zoom in to just 1.1x to get past the corners getting cut off. In the end, I think this will be fine. And it's probably better for me to have the nice compact 52 mm size rather than bulk up the camera too much. The slim, single filters have no issue. There are so many affordable filter bundles available. I chose one that came with UV, CPL and FDL filters and purchased a single variable ND filter for moving water shots. The Vivitar set of 3 came with a case with one extra spot (perfect for my ND filter and the pouch also fits the MagFilter adapter mounted to one of the filters) The pouch that comes with the MagFilter also can fit the adapter with one filter on it.I considered dropping a star for being a bit pricey, but this product provides a solution I've been searching for to really help improve my shots and the quality is good overall. The very compact mag mount is a nice design. So it's worth something.

First, I'm being a little conservative in awarding points because I don't know how the product will hold up over time; but my initial impression is excellent. I found this product considerably easier to install than a competing product from Lensmate; the latter had an adhesive ring that was too easily made useless during installation, and consisted of more separate parts, although Lensmate has the one advantage of supplying a removal tool.Magfilter gives you two ways of attaching filters: (1) if you already have a filter that's the right size, you can screw it into the magnetic filter adapter that is provided, or (2) if you don't already have the filter you need, you can purchase one of Magfilter's own filters, which are designed to attach directly to the magnetic ring. Some customers may want to simply buy the filter (Polarizing, for example) in a package that only includes the filter and the adhesive/magnetic ring; others, like me, will want to buy the attachment system that allows one to install any normal threaded filter (of one of two sizes supported, one being 52mm) into the Magfilter adapter. There is a concern with these types of adapters that either the adhesive or the magnetic part of the system will fail, causing a filter to fall off and break. Only time will tell whether this turns out to be a problem for me, but my initial impression is that the magnetic attachment is very strong, and that, indeed, the biggest threat is that the magnetic attachment is SO strong, that the adhesive that attaches the magnetic ring to the camera might be pulled off. As of now, though, the system is working beautifully.
