If you want a faster stirring speed than the machine's default speed, you can use a screwdriver to adjust the trimmer resistor at the bottom of the machine. (Please note that if the stirring speed is too fast, it can easily lead to liquid splashing).

I really don't have anything bad to say about this basic heated stirrer. As you can see by my thermal photo, the heat plate does heat up fairly well in the center where I want and need the heat to be.This is a basic unit, so there is no temperature probe to set temperature, nor does it have reverse stirring... or an RPM gage. It's ment to be basic, and it does that job pretty well imho.The plate can get very hot so be careful. Creap up to whatever temperature you want and test the liquid to ensure proper temp while on this stirrer. I almost burned my arm brushing up against it when performing a thermal imaging test lol.Speed adjustment is great. I can creap the pill slowly for a very slow stirr, or speed it up into a vortex. So the speed adjustment on this stirrer is stellar imho.The construction is metal, except for the stem base. That's plastic and I had to slightly realign it for the stem to be perfectly straight vertically. That's my only issue and not worth removing any stars over it imho. I fixed it with a simple resetting of the bracket.If you need a decent simple basic heated stirrer, this is definately worthy of consideration.
