So far, I'm the only reviewer that used it for its intended use - on a wood stove.I have another thermometer on the stove pipe (where it should be) but I'm always curious about how hot the stove itself is. That is where this new one will live.I tested its accuracy by placing it next to my old one and they both read the same. I'm assuming this means its accurate.If you have a wood stove, an accurate and correctly placed thermostat will tell you if you're creating creosote, which no one wants. This will help me keep the fire at the correct temperature.

Did not realize it was for a wood stove, but we used it in our gas oven to verify temperatures for bread making. We set the temp on the oven, it matched the Stove Thermometer, and to double check for accuracy we used an IR thermometer. All three were within 5 degrees. I'm happy with the accuracy of the Stove thermometer, and would recommend for anyone needing to know the temp of their stove.

I was having trouble getting the computer to click into product description, so when the Stove Thermometer Magnetic with a Ceramic Decal arrived and I read instructions, I realized it was for a stove, like wood burning stove, not a baking stove. It did however, let me know my baking oven is operating properly. It’s very well made and the magnet works perfectly fine. It’s to be placed on the stove pipe, no more then 6” above the top surface of the stove. NOT IN A OVEN.

So we don't have a wood burning stove, but we needed a way to double check that our natural gas oven readout was correct, and this is working fine for our needs.I intend to use it to monitor my outdoor grill temperature as spring weather gets here.

This is intended for a wood stove, on the outside of it. I'm not using it for that. I have a propane stove/oven with a burnt out thermometer, meaning the oven never senses that it reaches the set temperature so just keeps on going - which, of course, is disastrous to whatever I'm baking. The price to replace the part equals the price of buying a new stove and I can do neither.So, when I bake I have to check the oven temperature every few minutes and keep the door open till it gets back to the range I want. I bought a cheap thermostat at the grocery store, the metal kind that clips onto the oven racks but the fumes from cooking have gotten under the glass making the gauge very difficult to read.This thermometer is GREAT...it magnetically sticks right on the inside wall of the oven and is EXTREMELY easy to read. I know this isn't it's intended purpose, but needs must.

Tested it in my toaster oven and it is really accurate. Held up great to the heat too.Minus one star for instruction error or missing wire.Good product. Good value.
