If you're running wires through an empty wall cavity, this is helpful for that.If you are running wires through an insulated wall cavity, this is amazing! Put the "mouse" between the insulation and the drywall and use the magnetic cart to move it down (or up) the wall.I tie a string to the mouse tail, then pull it through. Once the mouse comes out the hole, I then pull the string which is then tied to the wire. Don't try to tie the wire directly to the mousetail because although the magnets are strong, they are not strong enough to pull the wire itself.

This magnet is really strong and made it much easier for me to run the lighting cables in my garage. It’s very easy to use and glides smoothly along the wall without leaving marks or damage. The tool has a great design and allows for precise cable maneuvering, saving time and effort on electrical installations. Overall, it does exactly what it promises, and I highly recommend it.

It has a very strong magnet that will work through 1/2" drywall. However, if the line isn't slack, then it will disengage. It is helpful with certain types of pulls, but I find the long drill bits and fish tape are faster.

Useful tool. The magnetic is very strong. The packaging ans storage kit is very convenient. This si something i wish I had a moth ago when I did rewiring of my doorbell. The pointed end of the wire lead will make it easy to push pass insulation. I tested it on both sides of a 2" door and the magnet in the handheld and the wire guide was trong enough to still hold and move with each other.

Anyone who has fished wire in a wall will find this little gem a must have. It's one of those tools you use seldom, but when you need it it's a huge time saver. It even worked perfectly to pull a tag line inside an insulated wall sliding easily between the drywall and the insulation. If you've ever used a standard fish tape inside an insulated wall you know what I'm talking about and what a pain it is. This makes those pulls quick and easy.

These are some strong magnets that start attracting to each other from over 4 inches apart. Not sure about the stud finder feature, as my old home has plaster walls, so no nails to detect in studs.

I recently used this Magnetic Wire Puller for a wiring project, and I must say—it made the job so much easier! The rare-earth magnets are incredibly strong, allowing me to pull cables through tight spaces and behind walls without the usual frustration. The stainless-steel leader glides smoothly, and the design ensures that the wire follows effortlessly. One unexpected bonus is that this tool doubles as a stud finder, making it even more versatile. It comes in a durable hard plastic case, which keeps everything organized and protected. The build quality feels solid, and it performed exactly as advertised. If you're running cables through walls, this is a must-have tool. It saves time, reduces hassle, and makes even tricky cable pulls manageable. Highly recommended!

This is a good tool to run smaller lines or even cords through the walls. You can't just feed it up through a hole unless you enlarge it, and at that point, make sure you fire seal that later. It does good bringing up a small cord of feed from a lower point than you can reach and I can recommend it for running lines for home entertainment systems that run behind the wall to look nicer. I did not get as much help as I was hoping for with my house rewire project, but it did have a couple of moments within the same cavity that it worked really well.
