Where has this been? Seriously, it is genius. I frequently use a seam ripper to remove tags from clothing and also while sewing. Even with my glasses on, sometimes those little threads are just too small to really see. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this device! It works great, the buttons slide very easily, and make a very satisfying clicking sound. The ripper itself is nice and sharp and is working very well. Super happy with this, and will be ordering another one for my MIL!

When I first got this and realized it has 1.5x magnification, I was sure it wouldn't be enough. But it is! It is so much easier to see the stitches against the fabric, and to insert the tip of the cutter under the stitch and not catch a thread of fabric. I wish the cutter extended from the handle a little more. It would be nice if there was a small light included. The whole unit is a bit bulky. None of these are a big deal. This will be my go-to seam ripper going forward.

Magnified Seam Ripper I have one of the older seam rippers but as I have gotten older, my vision makes it more difficult to see small items such as thread. This seam ripper with a magnifying glass is a God sent. This meets my needs when cross-stitching or sewing a seam. It is sold at a reasonable price.What I especially like about this one –It is easy to hold, not so small that it will slip in my hand.That the magnifying lens operates separately from the actual ripper.Both will lock in place so it will not slip or close while in use.Easy storage since the ripper and lens slide back into the handle.

About a year ago I got super into English paper piecing and I’m currently about 75% done with my first project—a 3000+ piece, king sized quilt. I haven’t found myself needing to remove stitches *that* often, but I hate myself every time I do need to because it’s such a pain.This product is awesome and will make that task so much easier! It’s only about the size of a Bic lighter, and the magnifying glass & seam ripper both extend out of one end. Each one extends separately, so you can use one without the other or both together. I have small hands and the size of it is pretty perfect for me to use. I like that it’s bigger than the standard “stick” type seam rippers—even with small hands I find them difficult to maneuver. The slight bulk on this one makes it much easier.I definitely suggest adding this little tool to your sewing collection. Even if you only use it once in a while, the time and aggravation it saves is well worth it!

As far as seam rippers go, it's as serviceable as any others. The magnifying glass really helps for those finer details. The only thing I think could be improved is that there isn't much grip and it would be a lot better if it had some type of rubber grip, as the shape is not as comfortable to use as it could be.

I have always hated ripping out stitches, especially when they are small or tightly spaced stitches with a thread that is matched to the fabric. I have left unseemly holes in fabric from where I skewered it with a seam ripper – usually missing the thread I was going for. Thus, you can imagine how excited I was to find this magnifying seam ripper so you can see what you are doing. I like this product because it has easy slide mechanisms that allow you to hide the seam ripper, the magnifier, or both for storage. The handle is larger for a good grip while you are working. I found the seam ripper sturdy enough for its purpose. I am happy with the product and would suggest to others.

I never thought I'd be excited about a seam ripper, but here we are! This little gadget has made my sewing projects so much easier. The built-in magnifier is a lifesaver, especially when working with tiny stitches or matching thread colors. No more squinting or struggling to see what I’m doing!The auto-lock mechanism keeps the ripper in place, so I can focus on precision rather than constantly adjusting my grip. I also love that it retracts into the handle, so I don’t have to worry about losing a cap or accidentally poking myself when digging through my sewing kit. The handle is a bit larger than traditional seam rippers, but I actually find it easier to hold and control.Overall, this is now my go-to seam ripper—super handy, sharp, and well-designed. I was so excited to order this magnifying seam ripper as my aging eyes make sewing more difficult than it used to be. But I was disappointed. Pluses: you can use the seam ripper without the magnifier, and the magnifier is powerful and works well. The negative: it takes a lot of pressure to push the buttons up to pop out the magnifier or the seam ripper; the wide handle is a little awkward to maneuver, especially in tight areas; and it has a flimsy feel when you try to rip a tightly stitched seam. Haven't figured out yet if it is the metal ripper hook or where it is attached to the plastic handle, but there is a slight "give" when you perform the ripping action. It's an okay item, but not one I feel I can recommend.
