Spent a little extra on these because they are Makita brand (even though they are Made in China *frown*) after reading other reviews about the "cheap" ones being junk. These fit my old planer perfectly. They are a little bit troublesome to get all the pieces lined up before tightening the bolts, but that is no fault of these blades. Make absolutely sure you have the original "adjustment block" that came with the planer, or this task will be much more difficult. They cut like Buttah' !

Once I had them set up they were pretty easy to flip around after the other side dulled. Setting up requires the blade setup tool, or perhaps making one if you can find the precise measurements. The blades can be slid in and out with minimal work. I am sure I will need to re-set the blades from time to time, of course.

Each blade can be reversed for a sharp carbide cutting edge. I changed over to this system from solid high speed steel blades so I didn’t have to sharpen blades

The blades were just fine, but did not know you needed a template to align the blades, should have all come together
