This Makita 23 guage gun was supposed to be the new and improved model, but fell way short. Supposed to shoot up to 1 1/4" nails, but will not shoot anything over 3/4". Even jams with 3/4" pins. Love Makita tools, but this tool is a complete disappointment.

Complete waste of money. This thing can't sink nails through two wooden shims. Makita has it wrong on cordless nailers.both 12v and 18 v are garbage as far as I'm concerned

This product is illegal to sell in Canada. Makita will not honour the warranty because it was sold in Canada. This is unacceptable to buy a product for 500 dollars and no warranty

What makes it so easy to use is no bulky air hose! It doesn't feel lighter than my pneumatic version when holding side by side, but using it Feels so much lighter because you're not dragging the weight of the hose around! It also fits into tighter spots without a hose and coupling sticking out! And quieter, with no need for a noisy compressor! 5 Stars all the way!

I looked at buying the 18v version for quite a while but the reviews made me hesitate, but with the addition of a Metabo 10" cordless table saw along with all of my 18v Makita battery tools including 10" mitersaw, and Bostich cordless finish guns, the compressor was the only corded tool left in the truck and dealing with cords and hoses just for the compressor finally pushed me to pull the trigger on this little pinner! I also added a 12v Makita green lazer and 12v impact driver about the same time making the 12v platform a good choice. This gun worked fairly well for the first couple months till it just froze up and wouldn't fire...while I considered returning it I really loved it while it was working so I pulled the front end apart, cleaned a lubed it and put back together. Since that time it has been flawless! I use this gun every job and would have a hard time going back to hoses.Cheers

I read alot of reviews before I purchased this item... with that said, I expected an expensive stapler but was pleasantly surprised. Some reviews stated that the gun jams after a few uses...has anyone considered a tiny bit of machine oil in the slide and spring mechanism? I have a feeling those peoples gun jammed due to lack of experience... I did just that before I started using it and MAN!!! This guns kicks but while chewing bubble gum!I've got through 2 small jobs and I haven't even needed to change the battery yet,( probably 40-50 shots at each job).I've dealt with alot of different types and kinds of tools in my life thus far and this little gun is by far a great addition to my collection of tools.Light weightNo airhoses neededNo compressor to lug around

I had high hopes for this Makita tool based on the reviews I read. Unfortunately I found it unable to sink the micro pins, but instead leaves them 1/32" to 1/16" up, requiring me to use a nail set virtually every time I fire off a pin. Even removing the rubber dent guard proves of no use. This nailer is designed for pins up to 1 3/8" long. I use only 3/4", and 1 1/8" pins. Using 3/4" pins, nailing on 1/4" mdf toeskins at cabinet toekicks, shooting into 3/4" utility grade pine plywood, one would think it should be no problem....unfortunately not the case. This tool will likely just end up taking up shelf space.
