These things are expensive, but should last forever. I have original vise grips I have used for 30+ years as an industrial mechanic. They are still functional and better than most. These Malco are head and shoulders above any vise grip style pliers I have ever used. They will outlast me, my son, and probably his son.

While I have a number of original ViceGrip pliers like this, they all have curved jaws and I need a flat jaw version. I'd always liked the Malco pliers because of several features; they're easier to attach and remove, and they have that socket on the end of the tightening screw. That socket especially can be worth the price of this tool; it can be used to both tighten and remove the pliers. The tool quality is excellent. All edges are softened/debraded so no edges to cut a finger on. The release trigger design is a little different from a ViceGrip brand plier, a littler easier to use. They're a bit heavy, but that's to be expected for a good tool like this.Sadly, Malco suddenly (no warning) shut down their USA plant and won't be making them any more. I'll be picking up another one or two of their pliers before they're gone for good. Highly recommended to buy.

Best Locking Pliers Ever! But the PRICE!Love the fit finish and function, Super well made, no slop in the jaw alignment, Super polished and chromed. Actually a bit slick and hard to hold onto, if nit-picking. Love the Made In USA! So pricey, tho.

These are by far better than any other locking pliers. The quality and craftsmanship are perfect. They are so nice I don’t even want to use them. They stand out in my tool box like a jewel. Do your research on these and you will see only good things about these or just take my word and just by them instead of wasting your precious time.

What a great locking plier it is such a quality tool that it is shameful that not being made anymore. Get yours while still available you will not regret. This is what vice grip used to be when made in the US. It grips and has no slippage. It can be hit with hammer and stands up to abuse. Finish is just beautiful this is a throw back to when quality tools made in the USA A little expensive but absolutely worth it+

I own many different brands of locking pliers. From Facom and BETA to Irwin, Dewalt and many cheap Chinese versions for close welding. These Eagle Grips are outstanding, solid, accurate and very well made. Worth every penny.

Is the cost worth it? Yes.An overseas screwdriver will usually get the same job done, just might not last as long. But an overseas locking pliers will NOT get the same job done as these pliers. With Malco you are paying for pliers that do things to a degree no other cheaper tool can do. It is essentially a different tool than the cheaper versions because it can handle so much more clamping pressure and its bite strength is so much greater. You can't purchase a cheapo version of this that just wears out quicker. When I use locking pliers, it's usually an emergency situation, which means I need the clamping pressure and bite. I've broken many of the overseas locking pliers, it's frustrating. I couldn't find a good set of locking pliers that would last so I'm thankful to have found these!!The point of failure on other brands is often the tail screw or the metal around the tail screw. Malco's screw is beefy and the area around the screw is reinforced. It also has the ability to use a hex key to turn. I've already twisted off the heads of other brands, but Malco's is a solid piece of quality metal. I'm not worried about any failures there.Be aware that the opening on the LP10WC (2.5 in) is wider than the opening on the LP10R (2 in). Also, the LP10WC length when fully open is just a tad longer as the picture shows.Only improvement might be to make them less slick/shiny for a better grip. Might lower manufacturing costs too.FYI - The little brown spot on the pictures around the pivot is not rust but oil. It did wipe right off.God bless the USA!John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
