These type of manual pumps are great when breastfeeding to catch letdown while nursing on the other side. This one had great suction, and the valve prevents any spillage. No one cries over spilled milk unless you are a breastfeeding mama! This greatly reduces tears while providing relief from being full and catching every drop of that liquid gold!

This wrecked my nipples for a few days. Made them so sore and bruised almost. I can’t use haakaa either and I was hoping this would work better and be more gentle but it’s not. I also didn’t even get but maybe 1 ml if milk out with this.

I mistakenly thought this would help convert my Haakaa into a better pump, because while I can catch milk with it with my letdown, I am unable to use it as a pump. This does not improve the Haakaa’s performance as a pump, but simply helps to prevent spillage. It is effect at doing that. It fits well, is easy to use and clean. It is of good quality. My other issue is that I don’t have a big supply or a big letdown, and the flow of my letdown is not strong enough to get through this valve efficiently. For me, it made milk collecting more cumbersome, so I have not continued to use this product.

I have breastfed 3 babies and only use hand pumps when needed as it’s much faster than an electric pump. I ordered this for a day trip when I wouldn’t be home to nurse and it was horrible. It wouldn’t suction and pulled out nothing. I had to pull out an old hand pump of mine. Don’t buy it.

I love this product! It is a great way to collect milk with little effort! This product is super easy to clean and I love that it comes with a lid to keep dust and dirt away from your precious milk. I boiled it to sterilize prior to first use and thanks to the wide neck it's easy to clean with a dishcloth or bottle scrubber. The numbers are see through but they're pretty easy to read. You literally attach this to your breast on the opposite side your baby is nursing and once your baby triggers the let down milk will flow into the collector, you can also squeeze the base to help with suction until the let down. It is so much easier than traditional pumps, I only bring out my traditional pumps when I need to make several bottles if I will be away from baby for a bit. Please buy this!Tip: to achieve maximum suction I fold the top of the flange back (as shown in my review picture) and then center my nipple into the center of the flange. When you let the top of the flange go it will attach very securely to your breast.
