Purchased this for LS swap in my 57 chevy. Pan fit good but has a defect in casting about an inch above the oil filter that allows oil to leak out under pressure. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more money and buy a better pan.

This is the 3rd knock off muscle car oil pan I’ve purchased. The three different brands I purchased all appear to have been manufactured by the same factory in China, with only subtle differences, such the color of the gasket material. To be fair, the GM branded pan is also made in China, and it’s possible that pan is made in the same location as the others. The first two I purchased were returned because of horrible quality that caused massive oil leaks. I haven’t run my engine with this latest pan yet, but it gets exactly 1 star because the dipstick is too short. With five quarts of oil in the engine absolutely nothing shows on the dipstick. I added another quart of oil and now the dipstick shows a tiny amount. To show “full” I would need to add another full quart at a minimum. The capacity is supposed to be 5 quarts, and overfilling an engine is never acceptable. The dipstick is installed correctly on the passenger side boss, and the engine sat 8 hours when I checked the oil level last.I’ve wasted at least $500 in labor installing and uninstalling these junk parts…..something to think about when ordering products.
