Installed on my alpha one drive, I have a mercruiser 4.3l on my 97 caravelle. Worked like a charm, gasket is great quality.

I've ordered these a couple of times...it's a good idea to change these screws out every time you do an oil change in the lower unit of a Mercruiser 3.0 engine. O-ring seals on the screws seem to hold up no problem. Definitely recommend these.

Magnet was stronger than my old plug, but just a little shorter. Slots were worn on my old one, always use a good fitting driver when you work with these!

I installed this to replace the damaged plug in the bottom of the stern drive of my 2004 Bayliner XT 175. It works fine. The original had a tiny ‘O’ ring on the small stem, rather than the washer, but this functions just as well. Delivered quickly.

We purchased a used motor in good condition. There were not a lot of records as to when and where the lower unit oil has been changed. These plugs are for the type of Mercery lower unit that has the three plugs on the bottom and side of the unit. Many Mercery lower units the oil plug is behind the prop. I am not sure if these would fit the other type of oil drain and fill system. We purchased these when we noted the oil was older and did show signs of fine metal in the oil. We installed these when we change the oil and would run the motor a few hours and drain and replace the lower unit oil again. We did this 3 times. The first time we did get a good bit of mental on the magnet. The second time we got a little bit of much smaller mental particles. On the third change just very little very very fine particles of metal. We ran the motor for about 15 hours of water time. We pulled the bottom plug and found very little metal. I am happy with these and really helped us get a read on the condition of our lower unit.

The plugs are well-made with strong magnet ends. These are much better options than the OEM drain plugs. They come with composite washers for a very good seal to the lower unit. They fit a Mercury 9.9 HP outboard motor.
