I am using these to attach straps and safety chains on my boat and trailer. With a shackle pin mouse, this will work extremely well.

I don't have a marine application. I was looking for 5/8 or 3/4 inch thick, but this half inch size was the best, heaviest, long-D shackle I could find without going to absurd pricing.
