I liked this particular line (Simple Whatnots) because they are smaller quilts. Fits in little areas around the house and make perfect gifts.

Yes, I am a Kim Diehl fan girl but there's nothing to not like about this latest Whatnots book. (I assume that if you have been subscribing to Whatnots kit offerings then many of the patterns in the book may be redundant for you.)Like the earlier Whatnots books, the designs are pretty simple but yet interesting. I've been wanting to make a basket wall hanging for my sewing room and the design "Apple Baskets" (16.5 inches square) will be perfect. The base of the four baskets are toward the center and are separated by flying geese. Simple but lovely.Two projects include curved piecing, a couple other projects include simple applique, and there is one wool applique project. The rest of the 18 project are strictly pieced.Instructions are clear, pictures are well presented, and there are a few pages Kim's Quiltmaking Basics at the back of the book. There are 127 pages to the book.If given the opportunity to do purchase do-overs, would I purchase this book again? Yes! This is a great book for planned or scrappy small quilts.
