The sponge is designed to be used in combination with the Masterson Sta-Wet Acrylic Palette Paper (not included) to provide moisture for the Sta-Wet system. The sponge is reusable. When moistened and used in the Sta-Wet system, the sponge keeps acrylics and other water-soluble paints workable for days and even weeks. The Sta-Wet Painter’s Pal Sponge Refill includes three sponges. Please be sure to follow all sponge preparation directions provided. Made in the United States.

Am an hobbyist, amaturer painter. When using acrylic paints, I use the stay-wet palette with this sponge. Keeps my acrylic paints wet, not dried out. This system works good for me.

I love these stay wet pallet refills I hand wash & reuse them over. Work best with acrylic paints & if you store in refrigerator paint stays good for even longer! Will be purchasing again

Pros: Keeps Paint Wet for long periods. Easy to wash up. Paper is strong. Sponge is durable.Cons: Lid not too easy to get sealed properly. Pricey.Overall, 4 stars for me. I'd give 5 if lid would be made better and price was $5-10 lower. I do love how it keeps my acrylic paint wet though, so I'd buy it again for sure.

I’ve used the masterson system for acrylic paints for years now. With the sponge, the special paper, and the Masterson box in both a small and large size, I hardly waste any paint. I paint almost everyday and get about 3 weeks out of palette page. The sponge lasts longer if I let it dry out between usage but I just use it until it starts to fall apart which is a fairly long time. This system makes the acrylics handle more like oils and is perfect for my needs. My main concern ia to not waste oaint as it’s so expensive these days and these sponges and paper work great. I recycle the exhausted palette paper into small modern works of art with recycled frames. Sometimes I use pretty parts of them in collage. All Masterson products are great.
