I appreciate that this bamboo matcha whisk comes with a strainer, and 2 other bamboo utensils for matcha making. I am new to matcha drinking and am not sure why bamboo is the whisk of choice for this drink. But I was willing to try it to avoid the rust that was forming on the metal whisk I'd been using. Honestly, when I first started trying this whisk, I thought the performance paled in comparison to the froth the metal whisk produced, and that I might not continue to use it. But before I completely gave up on it, I decided to closely follow all instructions to make sure the problem was not on my end.So I let the bamboo whisk sit in hot water for 5 minutes before using, as suggested.I also put the matcha in a much larger round (bowl like) mug than the one I had been using to make sure I had plenty of room to whisk. By doing this, I was finally able to accomplish not touching the bottom of the mug (bowl) with the whisk as it says, and was able to whisk in the M pattern. (though I also ended up whisking in circular pattern some too). Finally, by doing these things I was able to get a froth as good or better than the metal whisk had produced. Enjoying using these to make a great cup of matcha.
