Great Maul, but the first one's handle cracked on day two with NO MISS HITS. Took it back to Ace, they replaced it no charge with a new one. Even owner of the store agreed, sure they did a Return to Vendor.Second Maul, lasted about a year with a lot of heavy use on large southern water oak stumps -- super hard wood. It broke in half on a recent log hit, and the maul and other halve the handle flew forward and left me holding a wooden stake (handle) in my hand. Oh well, just glad someone wasn't hurt.I intend to replace handle myself with something other than a collins handle.Overall great mauls, just have no further confidence in their handles. In all fairness, the second maul has done it's job. Be careful out there!

Cannot be struck with a hammer, what do they think you’re supposed to be able to do with a maul?

I can finally split a log, I used to think I was a wimp, now I know I just needed the right tool. Thanks!

The handle snapped within an hour of use. No mis-strikes or bad hits, it just snapped. This is by far the worst maul I’ve ever used.

Handle broke after only one month. Had to purchase a new handle for this product. It was great until than.

Got this right out of the box and it’s damaged the blade has a chip in it and has Nicks all over the axe head. So if you don’t care about receiving the damage axe go ahead and buy but if you’d rather have a new one I’d look elsewhere

Great maul! The eight pound head delivers quite a wallop and splits the wood well. Additionally, the machined smoothness and curvature of the head eliminates it from getting stuck in the wood for the most part when a log doesn't split on the first hit. Very pleased with the purchase, however, I think I will purchase a Collins 6 pound maul also. The 8lb gets pretty heavy after a few hours of continuous use.
