This product was fairly easy to install and it blocks ALL the outside light. For your health it's important to sleep in total darkness, just as our ancestors did. No more street lights or cars in the parking lot for me. I love it.

I purchased the black/silver product. The package comes with absolutely everything needed to install, with clear directions. I used the Velcro attachments; they recommend putting those in place and allowing an hour before proceeding. The material was lighter weight than expected, which was very desirable for my needs. Totally opaque, easy to cut (I used scissors instead of the cutter they included). After the 'hook' half of the Velcro was in place (that half is white), I placed the 'loop' half on top (that half is black), but left the clear plastic backing on the loop side. When attaching the material to the row of Velcro dots across the top of the window, I marked the middle of the material and started at the center. I peeled off the backing on the loop side, one at a time, and pressed the material into place. The loop dots have a very, very strong adhesive. I pulled the material taut as I worked my way across the window and it worked perfectly. I was pleased to discover that the loop side of the Velcro is slightly larger than the hook side, so placement is a little forgiving.Highly recommended cutting the material oversized, as is suggested in the instructions. This window faces south and we have been experiencing 100-108 F temperatures in a heat wave. I could feel an improvement and it doesn't seem like the AC is working as hard to cool the house.I did a second window just to prevent glare behind the TV. This window already had a spring-loaded tension curtain rod behind the blinds. For this window I simply cut the material long enough to drape over the bar without using any Velcro or suction cups. Worked perfectly. As for the ease of using this, I am a 70+ year-old woman and found it straightforward and simple.I would purchase this product again, and probably will.

The blackout part is perfect, and i like the grid used for cutting. However, the adhesives dont stick to the window if any sun gets on them. The glue melted and slide down my window leaving a mess ill have to clean up. Would recommend getting this but swapping out for a different adhesive.

I moved my family into a Camper until our house is built and we needed a solution for all the windows. The Camper has 7 windows that are oddly sized. I looked into blinds and shades but that option was pricey and I couldn't find exact fits, I also considered curtains but hard to fit windows. So I decided to go this route. I had enough material to do all but 2 windows, it isn't the prettiest option but it does its job (keep that sunlight out!). I also like the fact you can remove it easily if you do want to let light in during the day. I have had a few problems where the velcro adhesive falls off the walls, I just stick it back to the wall, It doesn't happen everyday just randomly falls (possible when the humidity is up inside the trailer, since it's been cooler outside, I haven't had the adhesive fall off the walls, but when I first applied it, it did more, also was just 1 window that would happen, not all the windows) just be sure to chClean area well before applying it. Also you will need to cut the lines straight or it won't look good, the kit comes with a razor to cut with. I am going to order more to do the skylights, since those let the sunlight in. I've attached pictures so you can see how it looks inside, possible you could hang a tapestry or a poster over the inside of it for looks.

I live in a west-facing unit in Phoenix AZ, I put this in the windows to prevent the hot afternoon sun from coming in, I also closed the shades over them and the air is noticeably cooler and the blackout feature is very good. I would still recommend over-measuring, something I didn't do enough, as small cracks spill light and heat... I really appreciate how renter-friendly it is, although the back side has a grid pattern, so maybe not the plainest looking, but it's not a big deal for me, I just keep the shades down. The tools- cutter, measuring tape, velcro, and suction cups were all appreciated, although I wound up just using painter's tape around the edge to create a complete seal. Everything was well packaged and easy to use.

We had moved into a townhouse and because of the kind of blinds they had we couldn't use regular blackout curtains but our 3 month old was sleeping in our room so I needed the room to be dark. For awhile we used blankets covering the window because I couldn't find anything. But then someone shared this and I immediately bought hoping I'd finally found what would work. It was perfect!! The blackout effect was incredible the room was completely pitch black in broad daylight! I used the velcro option not the suction cups. They held up pretty good....they did here & there unstkick from the window but if I stuck it back it stayed. Our bedroom window was huge so this fit perfectly lengthwise any shorter and it wouldn't have been long enough. I'd say it's not super hard to set it up but it's not super quick either. You have to measure, make sure it's correct, cut, then make sure you place either the velcro or suction cups in the right place and line up the sticky part just right. For my size window I had someone help me but with a smaller window I think you could do it alone.Definitely, definitely recommend.....soooo worth the price!!
