Balancer was on there for 350k miles, came right off. Had to add some big washers for the install though, went right on.

Ls harmonic balancer puller works great. I have yet to use the installer as the engine is going to the machine shop but I will assume it will work just as well.

I’ve used the puller around 10 times, I definitely recommend. Installer just smashed the bearings and the nut rounded easy use a hammer and the factory bolt or a longer bolt to install

This LS Harmonic puller and installer tool set is really well thought out. The set is really two different tools:The first is the puller that works by hooking into the spokes of the balancer and then screwing in the plunger down to press the ballancer off. The base of the plunger has a bearing in it, so the press will not mare the face of the harmonic balancer and the threading works buttery smooth. The threaded rod comes wrapped in plastic foil and it well-oiled to prevent corrosion. Neat! The second tool is the installer portion. This tool threads into the crank and then a nut is run down against the balancer thereby pressing the balancer onto the front of the crankshaft. Again, this tool is well thought-out as the tool features two machined thrust washers (see my photo) for a bearing to work against so as to make the nut buttery smooth. The threaded shaft also has a hex on the outboard end so that the shaft can be held and prevented from spinning with the nut while running the nut down to press the balancer on.Unlike many of these tools that require the tech to "clean up" the threads before using, the threads on this tool set arrived perfect and buttery smooth, ready to work! Buy with confidence.
