I recently purchased a 2012 Mazada CX-9 Grand Touring with a cruise control issue. The cruise control would activate by pushing the on button and the indicator light would light up but would not engage when I pushed the set button. I read that a faulty brake light switch is often the cause of the problem, especially if the cruise control indicator lights up, so I purchased and installed this switch and it solved the issue. The cruise control now works perfectly. Installation is not complicated but requires working in a very tight space under the steering column at the base to the break pedal. It only took me about 15 minutes to install haveing never installed on e before.

Was difficult to get this part locally. It was easily installed by the mechanic and has been working well.

I replace my brake booster. This caused the power train indicator light (wrench light) to light up. The only issue was I couldn't engage cruise control. I read that if you mess with the booster you need to replace the brake sensor light. It has to be recalibrated each time with a new sensor (seems illogical and wasteful). I bought this new sensor. Installed it correctly (install it first before plugging it in). This removed the wrench light but the tcs light lit up. My brake like wouldn't come on when I press the brake too. I took my old sensor, used a safety pin and pull on the white square clip. I figured the white clip is how it calibrates the sensor. I reinstall the old sensor and everything works. All my research and nowhere does it mentioned that you can recalibrate your old sensor. All my research states you have to buy a new one. Come on Mazda! Do better!

My 2011 Mazda CX-9 failed a safety inspection due to a faulty break light (break lights would blink and flash intermittently when the break pedal was pressed, or fail to light up at all - scary! I had no idea until the safety inspector notified me of the issue). A little debugging showed me it was a faulty brake light switch. This replacement fit perfectly, and the fix was pretty easy (several YouTube videos available walking through the short process). This fixed the issue! Working great so far!

I installed this incorrectly the first time, made a slight adjustment (as in secured it correctly) and it works perfectly.

Pretty sure I wasted $300 on the brake light assembly replacement. The dealership could have done a better job diagnosing the issue which I found out was just a simple switch issue. Easy to install. Works like a charm. A++
