Just as described, includes all the parts needed for making some really neat candles. I thought the tins might feel a bit like a butter cookie tin, but the metal feels thicker and better than that. I especially appreciate that each tin has a dimple in the middle of the bottom to help you line up the wicks. The wicks are too long for the jar, but, obviously those can be trimmed.

These candle tins are adorable and the unique patterns add a touch of charm. They’re definitely smaller than I expected, which could make filling all of them a bit time-consuming for one person if you’re planning a large batch. I could see these being perfect for a birthday party or group crafting activity. Because they're tin and on the smaller side, they get hotter than a regular glass candle jar would. One thing to note: the wicks aren't pre-installed, which added an extra step to the candle-making process. On the bright side, you could find other purposes for the tine outside of candle-making. The designs are very reminiscent of the stylish Anthropologie candles from the 2010s that were all the craze..

My 28 candle tins arrived safe and sound, with none of them dinged or damaged in the least.I suspect that in order to save on shipping (both space and fuel), they package these with the lids stacked by themselves, separate from the 28 non-stackable bases. That means you'll need to play a little game when you get them, to see how fast you can match the caps to the bottoms! I sat down at the dining room table, placed all 28 bases in a row in front of me, placed all 28 caps in another row closer to me, then started the matching process. Mostly I went by color, then by pattern. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to pair them properly. I did mismatch two lids to the wrong bottoms, but that fact became obvious once I was down to just 2 bases remaining but no available matching lids. At that point, I knew I'd mispaired a lid with the wrong tin, so I rechecked my work and quickly found the errors. In any case, I kind of enjoyed the process, oddly enough. When you burn a candle in one of these, you can place the lid under the tin itself to insulate the tabletop or what have you. The tins stay cool from the middle down, enough to handle until the wax gets down below around half. At that point, the flame, naturally, makes the metal hot even near the base. So best to decide where you want it, light it there, and extinguish it there, too. I always place a marble or glass oaster under the tin so my antique wood furniture isn't damaged by any excessive heat that might radiate from the bottom when the wax is nearly gone.I'm a little torn when I make candles with these whether to use colorant. I like the colors I can add to my waxes, but the non-see-through nature of metal means you'll only see the color from the top, not the sides. I guess that's either a pro or a con, depending on how you look at it. On the plus side, save on colorant. On the minus side, the beauty comes mostly from the ornate and highly varied patterns on the tins and metal lids themselves. In any case, there's absolutely nothing wrong with these quality-wise. Their price in late October 2024, around twenty bucks, is reasonable, even a good deal to my way of thinking, for 28 of them, especially. If you're into making candles at home, these are a lovely alternative to simple glass votive jars. And besides, these tins hold probably twice as much as a regular votive, so the wax lasts longer. Plus they're easy to clean out and reuse when the wax is all gone -- just wipe with a paper towel or cloth.Good job with these, 5 easy stars.

I used to have a collection of little containers in the top drawer of our dresser. Our schedules use to be ridiculously busy. We worked full time, (plus), and I taught some college courses at night. The kids were young and there just was no time to spare. I found it helped me to arrange my clothes and accessories, (including jewelry), a week, sometimes two, ahead of time.I put the clothes I was going to wear in the front of my side of the closet, in order of the days I was wearing them. I put my earrings and other stuff, in the containers, lined up to match the clothes. During those years when the kids were little, it was just about impossible to get enough rest and I would be pretty groggy when I got up in the mornings. Having a system to ensure I would be appropriately dressed for my days really helped me focus on more important morning tasks. Even so, I could still make some mistakes. One day when I got to the office, I was chatting with a newer coworker who was nervous about an important meeting she was having that morning. While we were discussing what she was going to say, we realized she had on the perfect black suit – but had mistakenly put on blue nylons, instead of black. She was feeling even more pressure until we realized I had put on one navy shoe and one black shoe. At that point it just became funny.Aren’t these little tins fun? The colors look just like the ones on the website. I don’t know why but I love little containers and can’t help but think of all the things I could tuck away in them. I know these are sort of designed to make cute little candles and even come with enough wicks for each of the tins and wick stickers which should make keeping the wicks in place much easier. Who knew they even made wick stickers? Much different than when the kids and I made some candles years ago.The only thing needed to make a bunch of candles is some wax and perhaps coloring and fragrance. Have you seen the cost of candles? I have total sticker shock! Have fun and make your own. This is the perfect set to help.Just an FYI if you are making your own candles, go to a donation based second hand store and buy a very cheap pan to use for melting the wax. Trust me! 😊
