Just as advertised, this shelf fit perfectly in my 2017 Mercedes sprinter. I was looking for something light but sturdy and this was perfect. When assembled fully assembled, the unit feels extremely solid and able to support whatever will fit in the space. One pro tip on installing the column brackets, don't tighten them down before installing the shelf. in order to get the shelf into place, I had to rotate one set of brackets out the way. This will be easy to do if you leave a little play in the column screws and it's a good idea to tighten all of the pieces down at the same time so you can adjust for fit.As with other reviews, we found two sets of hands were essential when sticking on the carpet piece and it was a bit fiddly. We started on one corner, away from the bend. We aligned one set of holes (it took us 3 or 4 times to get it right but fortunately the 3M stick-um let us pull up and adjust) and then peeled, rolled and stuck along the bulkhead edge. We aligned the other corner holes and then worked back toward the bend. It came out just about perfect! There were a couple of pieces of extra hardware, which I always appreciate in case something gets dropped into a crevice. I was worried I'd be short on bolts for the curtain rod but found them already screwed into the ends and unlike a previous reviewer, found that the rod fit perfectly with washers on either side of the curtain rod brackets. As you can see in the photo, I've already put it to good use to store a single sterno burner and window shades.

I was tentative, given the price and lack of reviews...but for $189 (after coupon), I figured what the heck. This was hundreds less than most other shelves that I found. The brackets to install it looked similar, and I liked the look of the shelf and that it came with a piece of upholstery.Once it arrived, the instructions were basic, but all you need. Take your time applying the upholstrey to the shelf, using another set of hands helps. We pulled away a section at a time of the backing and started with the front of the shelf (that faces the back of the van) first. Line up the screw/mounting holes, then go slowly from there. When installing the brackets, make sure you don't cross-thread the bolts when putting back in, and leave them a bit loose. You'll want to have the brackets 'bent' out of the way while you slide the shelf into place, then pop the brackets into position and mount/secure the rest of the way.Very happy with the finished product, 30-40 minute install tops. Definitely recommend!!

Only issue is the curtain rod didn't fit in predrilled holes. Good Quality solid construction. 30 min to mount

While researching an overhead shelf for a 2007 Sprinter I came across this kit. With the price of hardware and pattern kit and then the purchase and cutting of plywood and paint and carpet I decided to to give this a try. There were no reviews but it did have a 10% off coupon. The powder coat finish on the shelf is great, the carpet adhesion is very good. My wife helped me line up the carpet-there is a ridge and a lip that you must roll the carpet over but with patience and another set of hands we got it first try.The hardware kit is complete and while I thought the attachment supports were too light initially once all 4 points are attached the shelf is very secure.I watched a couple of videos before I installed it-I actually removed the entire headliner at first in order to add sound deadening material and then insulation, the install was a breeze as I buttoned everything back together. It definitely creates a whole new area for storage in what was wasted space before, but watch your head. My interior is grey and the black shelf is hard to see as well as getting used to having to duck. I wound up putting some green reflective tape on the front lip of the shelf as a reminder to me and anyone else to duck. This is really a nice, complete kit, nicely finished, at a competitive price. If you're on the fence of DIY (or tired of cutting wood in my case) this is a great alternative.

Shelf is AOK - seems to match the most popular Sprinter model seen everywhere, at a much better price than the different online van life type e-tailers.Adequately packaged.I figured the title was wrong, since it clearly depicted the headliner shelf with an indentation for the newest generation van ... But no, the photos in this listing are wrong ( ordered 2024/12 ).Received was a plain single curve shelf without the indentation to go around the light housing, the shelf also seemed too wide. While the included manual matched the one with extra C shaped cutout as depicted here the most recent sprinter van model. So, it probably is titled correctly, but they included the wrong photos ... or duplicated the same listing, only changing the title, not bothering with actual photos.-1 star. No way to contact customer service and work this out. Just the AMZ bot.

My van was a mess with no place to put the window covers except passenger seat and other gear bought this and installed in about a hour and a half being patient. Have not used the railing yet but I did install it I have hit my head a few times on the shelf edge so the railing probably act to cushion some of the blow π
well built and the felt was surprisingly easy to apply.

Much more reasonably priced than the big name van outfitters selling essentially thr same shelf. Easy install. Looks great. Solid and supports a lot of weight. Looks decent with the adhesive Grey felt. Installed in a 2015 Sprinter.
