There is nothing worse than a non-breathable chef coat. This one has a nice panel in the back that helps with circulation. It is comfortable and wears well. The length of the sleeves are nice and you don't have to worry about rolling them up just for them to fall down once you get going.

This coat is sized perfectly. I ordered the size I would normally order for a T-shirt and it fits nicely. The quality is great; it is a lightweight jacket made of polyester (64%), cotton (33%), and spandex (3%). The build allows for nonrestrictive movement and helps you stay cool. The tag says it is "moisture wicking," and it does remind me of some of my other uniform shirts with that feature. If this is the case, don't use dryer sheets or you'll ruin it! There is a small pocket on the left sleeve that could fit a pen or other small item and a wider item. This coat/shirt looks amazing. Any kitchen would sharpen their image using this as their uniform.

I've worn Happy Chef coats in the past, and was happy to have had the opportunity to get to review one. I ordered my normal size, as I was fairly confident it would fit just fine. Luckily, I was correct. Even though I don't normally wear slim fit, I found myself quite comfortable in this coat. It is not too tight or loose, and feels exactly like I'd want it to. It is very breathable, which is just fantastic in this hot weather lately. No issues with staining, and the coat still looks brand new even after dozens of washes. Highly recommended!

The shirt looks nice - good cut, good fit and light weight.. maybe a little bit too light weight.Just unbuttoning it for the first time, the button holes kinda warped and have bent around.I'm not sure how durable it's going to be with the buttons/button holes. Some of that may be 'CookFlex' - Performance stretch material, I'll see how it handles getting washed a few times... The description says it's a 'Slim Fit' - but then has sizes up to 3X. Um,, I dunno, but that seems a little counterintuitive. I have the 3X and I think it's just a barrel - doesn't seem to be any 'slim' shaping. But, the fit is good, I'd say True to standard (US) size. The 3X would probably be good for a 54" chest, I'm a 48" chest and have about 8" overlap when I close it up all the way - but I think with common use, a looser fit is desireable so I don't feel like I'm swimming in the 3X size (but I like it loose). 2 sets of button holes - so it can be left buttoned or right buttoned as desired - (I thought that was very odd, but maybe that's just me or I'm missing something.

I have been a "home chef" for many years and over the past few years, we are cooking even more at home. I am normally making 4-5 meals at home per week and it seems like every time I cook, I get something on my shirt and the fiancé is not happy with trying to clean my shirts anymore. We talked about getting me an apron but I came across this Chef coat and jumped at the chance to get this. The coat fits as expected and was super surprised that it was very flexible and comfortable, plus it kept my cool even with another shirt on. I would recommend a quick wash before the first use as it was a bit stiff but as you can see in my photos, it fits well and allows me to cook with ease!

This chef's coat does what it says which is off to a good start. It is lightweight, good material, with nice pockets and a good fit.As far as fit, it does fit 'as expected' within the mainline size. It's not a baggy fit for the size though, it's a "proper" fit for lack of a better word. That means it is not too snug, but also doesn't offer a bunch of extra flappy space. Which for me, makes it perfect. It's a little hard to see from the pictures, but the flex mesh material is used for the panel that goes across your shoulder blades. The rest is more tightly woven. So overall it looks and feels like a standard fabric, but is a little more breathable across the upper back to help radiate out heat and moisture. Also it provides that extra bit of stretch for all the reaching you find yourself doing. If you like the style and you like the price, I think you'll do just fine choosing this coat. Best Luck.~Cheers!

Let me first deal with the description that is not accurate on the product page that reads "Left chest patch pocket, left sleeve two-section pocket, right sleeve utility pocket". There is no right sleeve utility pocket. If that doesn't bother, you then this could be a good chef's coat. The pocket on the left sleeve is big enough to hold a thermometer and a pen.The Happy Chef men's reactor short sleeved chef coat will help to keep you cooler than what would be otherwise in a hot kitchen. There is venting material across the entire back that helps keep you cool and dry. From the shoulder blades to the neck, the back of the coat has a porous material to allow moisture and heat to escape. There are two sections on the left sleeve pocket for you to store your thermometer, pen, or other small tools. There is another coat pocket on the left front that can hold important papers or a small notepad. There are no other pockets than those two. The coat is comfortable to move around it and has a nice feel.

This is a welcome change from the normally heavier fabric and long sleeves of many chef's jackets. The fabric is very light, so is quite comfortable. I can't quite decide whether I like the short sleeves. There are often a lot of droplets of very hot oil spitting out of a skillet on the stove, so the long sleeves are good to have. On the other hand, this is much cooler in the kitchen. The Medium size is true-to-size and very comfortable. In most cases, I find myself reaching for this jacket instead of the heavier, white, traditional chef's jacket.I am not a chef - -just a home cook.
