Merrill MFG. Pressure Switch - Under Pressure? No Problem!

Merrill MFG. Pressure Switches Close-Up
Flip a Switch on Better Pressure

Merrill pressure switches are assured to give you the best performance. Quality switches, excelling at what you need.

Merrill Pressure Switches

The 40/60 pressure switch signals the pump to start when the water system drops to a preset (e.g. 40 PSI) and stop at high pressure mark (e.g. 60 PSI). This switch is to be used with submersible well pumps or as a replacement switch. It can be wired 115 volt or 230 volt.

  • Cut-In Pressure 40 PSI - Cut-Off Pressure 60 PSI - Adjustable- Low Pressure Cut-Off - Manual Lever
  • 1/4" Female NPT Connection
  • Individaully Boxed - OEM Replacement Part

Merrill MFG. Manual Lever Pressure Switch - Stronger Fiberboard Bracket

Adjustable Pressure

This 40/60 pressure switch has adjustable cut-in (40 PSI) and cut-off (60 PSI) pressures with a low-pressure cut-off for protection. The manual lever allows easy control, and the removable cap simplifies adjustment. Compatible with submersible pumps, it can be wired for 115V or 230V.

Merrill MFG. Manual Lever Pressure Switch - Longer Service Life

Durable Construction

The pressure switch features large silver contacts for a longer service life. The thicker, stronger heavy-duty contacts bracket ensures durability, allowing it to withstand movement, heat, and wear over time.

Merrill MFG. Manual Lever Pressure Switch - Heavy Brass Wire Connections

High-Quality Connection

Equipped with brass terminals and screws (not steel), this switch provides superior electrical conductivity and reduces the potential for corrosion, ensuring reliable and consistent performance.

Installed this pressure switch and from the get go it repeatedly failed. Made adjustments and everything that's known to alter the settings to try and overcome the failures but even that failed. Chinese junk. Lesson learned the hard way and expensive way.Stick to name brand switches from now on.

I've gone through 3 in 2 years with another brand and they all fail! Fingers crossed!

It really works good.

Installation of this pressure switch was easy, and all went as expected (initially). The switch shut off the pump when 60 psi was reached, and kicked it on at 40 - for the first few cycles. As it operated longer, the pressure settings began to lower themselves, to the point where the low pressure cut-off would cause the system to go to 0 psi. This was first noticed when our new washing machine gave an error about a water supply issue.Thankfully there are 2 adjustment screws to mess with and get things set right again. Long story shortened, the turn-on pressure had fallen to 33 psi - tighten the nut a bit to get it back to 40. This caused the shut-off pressure to reach 65+ psi. The dedicated cut-off screw was already backed out to where it wasn't affecting the situation. Basically it was all the main adjustment screw which was cutting off and switching on, and the normal 20 psi range had grown to 25+. Will it continue to change/grow larger?I've ordered up a pumptrol switch from a different manufacturer - I'm not going to wait to see how bad this Merrill can get.

Price was less and was sble to get delivered sooner. Than I could go and get one, quality is good, like the heat dissipation and the insulator that keeps heat away from wire connections to avoid corrosion or breakdown.

I've generally been happy with Merrill pressure switches but this one confuses me. I've bought this type of switch with the cut-off for air compressors, since that's normally the only power switch for units equipped that way. However, this pressure range wouldn't be suitable for an air compressor. On the other hand, I'm not used to seeing these on a water well and I'm not sure I'd want one. I plan to use this on my rain water booster pump, and while I could see the usefulness of the lever in some cases, I'm not sure I want it where someone (or something) could accidentally or intentionally turn things off that I don't want turned off. Minor point, and I could get one without the lever, but this just struck me as odd because I've never seen the lever on a well or water application (where I'm also not sure I want a metal switch lever in something that could get wet!) vs. on an air compressor for which the pressure range of this switch doesn't make sense.
