Merrill Pressure Switches
The 20/40 pressure switch signals the pump to start when the water system drops to a preset (e.g. 20 PSI) and stop at high pressure mark (e.g. 40 PSI). This switch is to be used with submersible well pumps or as a replacement switch. It can be wired 115 volt or 230 volt.

Adjustable Pressure
This 20/40 pressure switch has adjustable cut-in (20 PSI) and cut-off (40 PSI) pressures, with a removable cap for easy adjustment. It’s compatible with submersible pumps and can be wired for 115V or 230V, simplifying installation.

Bought this switch to replace a 30 year old similar one on my well pump. Although not listed as 220 —which I needed—one online photo showed a rating chart for 110 or 220 use on the inside of the metal housing, just like the one I was replacing. Turned out it was a virtually identical replacement and took me about an hour total to install. My pump has been working great since and I am hopeful for another 30 years service!

If you have lots of time it's probably worth buying the parts and doing it yourself. I do most home repairs myself but this was definitely not fun. After turning off pump power and draining water pressure in basement sink, the next step is to drain at the tank. Then remove old and install new. Lots of time on knees (buy knee pads and be sure you have a huge stack of rags).
