Nail criticisms are valid, you'll need a pry bar to pull them whether your Estwing is brand new or well worn. Only one stick of 16d fits, kind of awkward given how quickly it can fire them.

Gun works ok. Only holds one rack, so lots of reloading. Batteries last a long time. I’ve shot probably 1000 nails and only changed the battery once. It’s jammed on me twice in that time and it’s a project to unjam. Frustrating.

Do not buy if you’re not delicate with your tools. The magazine broke after maybe 20 minutes of shooting forms. I don’t buy tools to baby them. I work them and expect them not to break..Also the nail head are far too small to pull out with a hammer like a duplex nail should.. I emailed metabo for a full refund after explaining the problems and they never got back to me after telling me they could switch the gun but I just wanted my money back and move on.. never again the battery framers are useles to always break iv had two that broke so I’m done

I believe this is a good quality nailer, but please redesign the duplex head nails so that they can be easily removed after use. The head is to small for the claws of a hammer to grab and pull the nails back out. We used several hammers, both old and new and none would grab the head to pull the nail back out. We had to use two hammers and drive the claws of one hammer onto the head of the nail to pull the nails out. Redesign the duplex head on the nails and you will have a winner. Let me know when you have a winning nail and I’ll use this nail gun every day but until then it was a waste of money.

I've been forming foundations for 28 years and have banged a few hundred thousand duplex nails in that time. This gun is really a huge game changer for form setting. It really helps speed up the process and does it easily. The gun drives the nails accurately every time. It's a bit heavy but I'll take the little added weight to give my elbow a break. The battery life is good and we have a couple other Metabo tools that take the multivolt batteries so there is always a full battery ready to go. The gun is built to stand up to the kind of abuse tools get in that particular environment. I haven't had any jambs or misfiring issues. We run the Metabo collated nails which run about a nickel each for a 16d dups which sounds spendy but by my math it still not a whole lot more than hand bangers.
