The NV83A5 is like the original NV83A that you have come to trust, but now with an improved trigger design and sharing all the same internal parts as the original NV83A. The NV83A5 relies on the same cylinder valve drive system as the NV83A, which offers both rapid response and great driving power.

I've used a lot of different nail guns. This one is a little heavier than most. It's my favorite though. I'm a framer and use it heavily on a daily basis. I've replaced a couple orings but that's standard when shooting at least 3000 nails a day. The depth of drive adjustment is fantastic. You can drive nails into lvls with minimal nails left proud and also back it way off to nail zip sheathing without over penetrating.

I bent the piston using this to nail shingles. After 5 shingles it stopped working and figured out that the 'drive piston' was bent. It works great on standard collated nails, roofing nails have a larger head.

This puppy has some weight to it but it fires nails pretty good. I had one jam but it was more likely the bad coil. If you can handle the weight you will be happy not having to reload as often as you do with racks. I have another brand coil nailer that doesn't sink the nails in all that great but the Metabo shot pretty good out of the box.

Works great, the trigger is kind of tricky. You have to get your finger all the way off the trigger to get it to engage again. The rapid fire works great though, I suggest leaving it in that setting unless you are being very precise where you want the nail. Love the rafter hanger that's included in there, it really is a solid gun. Feels like it could stand up to full construction use but absolutely great for at home do it yourselfers.

This framing gun is the standard. If you were to go around to job sites around the country you’d notice that most of the framing crews use either Bostitch or this Hitachi/Metabo nailer. As someone that’s used both brands there isn’t really any comparison. The quality and durability of the Metabo is head and shoulders above the rest of its competition. It’s not cheap, but the best rarely is.
