Tried these out on some scratched up scrap (mild steel) that was first prepped with a series of wet sandings with progressively finer grit sandpaper up to 8000 grit. Not so sure about the quality of the paper, but the polishing compound helped get things shined up quite a bit. Used a bench grinder with a couple different wheels, first for the cutting pass, then buffing/coloring wheel. Looks like those need replacing or maybe a thorough cleaning so I can keep straight what compound goes where.Only negative is value. These are itty bitty, but sell for around 9 bucks. The local big box store sells a set (that includes non-ferrous compound) that is almost 2.5 times larger for a couple bucks less. It seems there isn’t much difference in performance so they don’t get a good cheapskate rating.

No information comes with these to know how to use them. Luckily my husband knows how. He used these on the buffing wheel on his Dremel tool. He holds one of the bars against the buffing wheel while it is spinning. That puts the grit from the bar onto the wheel. He buffed some resin pieces for me, and it worked well at buffing out the small scratches. These work like they are supposed to.

Well, I’ve used this stuff before but on a larger scale at work. As you can see the skillet was used for demonstration purposes. I took about ten minutes and the three different compounds to polish the bottom of a Copper skillet. Nothing fancy about what I used for this job just to make sure anyone with anything can purchase this stuff and polish whatever you like. Just an average drill/driver with a buffing wheel attached. I used a shop rag to clean in between each polish. At the end I used a white cotton rag and took the finished pictures. They offer three options when purchasing this product and discounts. So it’s worth the money if you’re not going to use this stuff every day.

This may be operator error, as the kit arrived with no instructions and I am not highly knowledgeable about how to use the compounds received. I did some googling and found that the colors of the little bars correspond to standardized levels of coarseness. I then tried to polish a knife with the compounds and a wool wheel head on a dremel-like tool. Either I'm completely inept, don't know what I'm doing, or the compounds don't really work. ...or all three. I have no way of knowing! The long and the short of it is this, if you don't know what you're doing, this is definitely not the compound kit for you. If you DO know what you're doing, I don't know if you should by this or not. Apologies for not being able to provide a better review!

These seemed like they would be bigger but I did order the 4.23oz size. These work as expected and will leave a nice e finish on the price you are working on. Just start with course and work your way to fine for removing the deeper scratches

These work fine. They are a bit small to apply directly to spinning tools though. They have a brown cardboard box that works for storing but zero notes or information - not even which is coarse or suggested application cheat sheet.

From the sellers pictures, these look tiny, and I was a bit worried about the size. However, they are much larger than I expected (see picture with hand size for comparison). I haven’t had a chance to use these yet, but when I do, I’ll post some pictures. I just wanted to let the Amazon community know about the size differences right away. For now, 5 stars, but will update accordingly.
