Ad: "Fits 1" outside diameter tubing with 16/18 gauge wall thickness"That means these nuts are less than 1" wide, apparently, just 7/8" wide. My 1" tube is apparently 1" I.D., i.e. inside diameter. I doubt these fit a 1" O.D., either. The butterfly's on these nuts need to wedge inside the tube, for the tube to retain the nut. 7/8" inside a 7/8" I.D. tube won't work, either. My guess is that these will at the largest, support a 5/8" I.D. tubing.The vendor's adveritsement isn't wrong, but it is a bit misleading, IMHO.

Used these to repair an RV ladder that had come loose. As long as you order the right size, which I happened to do, they worked great. Ladder very secure now.
