I got a 2din cheap carplay unit for 65$ for my 00' ranger.. Got the unit before the kit.. But the 2 din' unit wouldn't have even fit, USING THIS KIT... I had to dremmel' out, sand/file the ford bezel just too get the screen too fit out threw the stock bezel.. Used the brackets that came with unit, and made them work..Bent them too a L SHAPE, And used them w/ 4x small self tappers.. (youll see what i mean if you do a similar mod) Can not see how this kit will work with ford ranger and a 2din touchscreen setup.. (well maybe a true pioneer or namebrand one- thats actually true 2din? idk)But i dont see ther point using it for the amazon touchscreens, as long as you got some basic handy man skills and a file/Dremel.basic tools.. The wire harness adapter is nice for sure though.. But this kit, Not really needed for a ranger w/ a carplay amazon unit imho...Maybe the amazon carplay units are bigger then a true 2 din?"only thin i gotta say bout that"

I ended up just throwing it out, didn't fit a double din head unit, don't see how it even stays in seeing as how it doesn't actually clip in to anything or screw into anything. I ended up just filing down the inside of my center dash and putting in my head unit without it. My head unit looks great without it and its snug so I don't worry about it.

Product works as intended, although by default it is recessed into the bezel a little further than I like. Note you do have to trim the ford ranger bezel top and bottom lip to fit a double din head unit, and these metra mounting plates can be drilled to move the unit further out for a flush look. (If you want more headunit forward-back adjustability, go with the American International FM-K552 kit) The trim piece did not fit my 7" android head unit but I assume it fits a standard double din radio fine. It fits the ranger bezel snug.

I used this product to install a double DIN JVC player in a 1997 Mazda B2300. It worked very well for me. It was easy to assemble, and once the lip of the truck radio panel (from the dash) was trimmed to allow a double din radio to slide in (very easily accomplished with dremel or razor blade), it held the radio in very tightly. The kit appeared flimsy at first glance, but the key was getting the right and left panels on the correct side, and make sure they are properly screwed into the radio chassis, while at the same time pressed into the original radio panel (the part of the dash board that holds factory radio). The trim piece that comes with the kit hides any gap quite well. After the radio and dash panel were assembled in the dash, it was all very steady and tight. Make sure you have the proper radio removal tool (u shaped wire) before beginning. I was pleased with this kit.
