I had purchased two dash kits that did not work properly on my Toyota Matrix (2003) although the Amazon fits the vehicle recommended them.Eventually I came across this one, ordered and was delivered on time and when I checked the fit it was perfect for my double din Nakamichi Car Stereo.I will try to post some pictures but there's no better fit than this dash kit.

Had used a different Metra kit and a kit from a different brand that said would work/fit 2008 Toyota Matrix....nope until I got this kit. Took a little bit to figure out what was needed (that part is on me) but after that everything worked just fine.

Bought this for my son's 2003 matrix xrs for a Kenwood double din head unit. Install was a little tricky due to the fact that the screws that came with the head unit did not fit as the side brackets stuck out too far and didn't not allow us to screw them in. Luckily I had some extras of the correct length and thread pitch so it worked out. The other issue is the front trim piece DOES NOT SIT FLUSH!! I say this with hopes that you will not waste a half hour trying to figure it out. Once you install the dash kit and head unit, it will pop on just like it's supposed to. Once we got it all figured out install was a breeze and it looks perfect.

I see a few mixed reports as to whether this actually fits, and after installation I can confidently say: yes, it fits 03-05 IF you're willing to trim the side plates. The consensus seems to be that it fits '05+ with no modification. Use a diagonal pliers/side cutters to trim, and a file if you want to clean it up. The end result won't show the trimming either way.Other problem areas: the rear support has a very narrow adjustment range, so I added some MDF pieces to close the gap and actually support a single-DIN unit. The side plates have bosses molded in for the rest of the kit, so they have no holes or slots for head unit mounting. They would need some holes drilled and washers or spacers to directly mount a head unit (without the slide-in adapter mount). Most importantly: the storage pocket that fills the gap with a single-DIN head unit: a) is very short in height, wasting a lot of available space, b) has sharp edges at the opening, which needed sanding down to avoid scratching wallets, etc., and c) it has HOLES on the BOTTOM for things to FALL THROUGH into the dash. WHY??? It's an easy fix with some electrical tape to block it off, but they shouldn't be there.Overall: it works, with some fiddling. The final result is secure, neither moves nor rattles, and looks polished. Recommended, with the caveat that it will need a bit of work.Installation details: '03 Matrix, originally equipped with the 6-cd changer. Same jead unit as Moon & Tunes, but without a separate amp (doesn't change the use of this kit). Kit used to install a Pioneer DEH-80PRS.

I installed this kit for an SSL DD988ACP Android auto deck. I modified the bezel so the deck could sit proud of the plate - the radiused corners need to be squared off for this deck but it wasn't an issue for me to modify it. It was a lot of work to make it fit well, but if you know what you're doing - it works well for a true double din deck. The mounting brackets are plastic, but solid enough. It fits my 2006 Vibe perfectly, and looks 100% OE. With a bit of adjustment, it fit perfectly and is quite solid when the dash is back together.

Purchased this trim kit for our car to install an Atoto A6 Pro (double din). The instructions required you cut three pieces. You could do on the faceplate with a razor blade, as per the instructions, but not the side mounting clips. In fact, the husband had to put out his oscillating tool because the plastic was SO thick. Then after rubber banding the side clips to the face plate, we found that the holes were hard to line up as per the instructions so we marked the side of the unit to identify viable options. Then we had to run to the store with the bolts Atoto supplied to find longer ones because the ones provided through them were too short, and the ones in this kit didnt fit ANYTHING! So if you're ready to Jimmy-rig, this kit is great for you lol. Gotta admit - still looks pretty good.

The instructions were easy to follow. Yes, there was a bit of trimming to do (which I was able to do with scissors), but the installation looks good. I like that the kit contains a bunch of different parts (different face plates, etc), in case I ever want to install a different radio. One small thing wrong: the package was missing 4 of the 8 screws that are supposed to be included with the kit. The instructions described the type of screw though, so I was easily able to purchase screws for a couple bucks at the local hardware store. Thanks!

Decent quality product, was worried it might be made of a cheap brittle plastic but this is good stuff. Glad to find this for my 2005 Matrix.

Product was installed in a 2007 Toyota Matrix. I installed a single din radio. I followed the instructions and looked at the pictures on the pages specific for my model. Install was a breeze. The tabs required to be snapped off, did so with two fingers. After reading all the negative reviews, I ordered anyway, and am so glad I did. It fit perfectly and looks great.

DONT BUY IT, dint not fit my 2006 Pontiac vibe, plastic is extremely cheap, you are better with cardboard and tape then this product.the plastic brackets that comes whit it are 1/4 inch to wide, so you have to remove the one on the factory radio.and the bucket can not be screwed on because its to wide and wont fit with the car.will need to buy an other brand and try to return this one

Tried to install this Metra kit on my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I've installed a few decks, so this was not my first time. Took about 20-30 minutes to assemble the Metra pieces, of which the instructions were not easy to follow. The screws included hang on by a thread, so I ended up having to use super glue to hold the sides on. After getting it together I went to install it in the car. The problem was the mounting kit is too wide to fit into the trim piece. I tried both face plates, all the different options, and nothing worked. It is roughly 1/8 inch too wide - which is just enough to make it NOT WORK.Out of my frustration I overnighted the Scosche Pt2049B, and it is perfect. Came already assembled - and it feels literally 10x stronger. Installed in 5 minutes. No questions here- buy the Scosche.I don't work for either company - however I attempted both and one worked, and the other didn't. Don't waist your time and money like I did.
