The lid was missing holes for the screws. Added the holes myself and the wood split. Even after removing the protective film from every panel, it’s still kind of foggy and definitely not crystal clear the pictures make it out to be. It’s on the smaller side and would be great for a Robo Dwarf except for the fact that mine has a really hard time reaching the different levels — had to buy accessories. Hardly any room for a wheel. And the tray, while it does slide out, isn’t deep enough to actually hold the bedding, so you end up pulling out an empty tray and all the bedding is left behind on whatever surface the cage is sitting on. Not to mention the fact that urine seeps right into the wood. Love hamsters, but they stink. After putting it together (which took two attempts since nothing is labeled and I installed the side panels backwards), I definitely regret spending $80+ on it. But, I’ll still give it two stars because the concept itself is a good one (much better than silly colorful plastic cages with metal bars) — just far too expensive for how poorly made it is. Definitely needs better execution.

The instructions were slightly difficult to understand with only images to go by and included the wrong screw driver. You have to somehow guess where the hinged screws go

The acrylic is cloudy and there are black words all over the acrylic. False advertising! Pieces were broken and it has poor design with a crack at the bottom.

One panel was pre-constructed wrong - the screw holes are on the wrong side. I need a replacement panel E. But Amazon wants me to return the whole thing. But I already build some of it. It’s absurd that this was pre-constructed wrong. In addition, there were no holes for some of the screws, the screws were not labeled, the wood pieces don’t fit (I had to use a mallet to hammer them in, there’s a gap above the pullout tray, the wood is not as pictured - it’s cheap unfinished wood, not the same quality as what’s pictured. The product pictures are deceiving. If you order it anyway, be prepared to put in extra work to build it. You will need to line the pullout tray so that the wood doesn’t get damaged from pee, water, food etc. Be prepared to be frustrated and disappointed with this product. Also this cage would only be suitable for a robo or dwarf hamster.

Cage is small (definitely meant for Dwarf and not Syrian) and it’s cute but won’t be functional very long as you cannot properly clean pee from the wood. The slide out tray is unnecessary as you need to scoop the shavings out by hand first. The staples securing the metal mesh top are so short they just fall out so the mesh is falling down already. The protective coating that comes on the plexiglass is extremely hard to peel off but it comes with a blade to help with the process. There is no room for enrichment activities like a wheel and the “house” that comes with it doesn’t get secured in place so it’s hard for the hamster to build a proper shelter when it’s constantly moving all over the place with the slightest touch from the hamster.

The cage is big enough for my two dwarf hamsters but it’s kind of cheaply built and with all the platforms there wasn’t much room for a wheel or any other added things like sand dish. Also they forgot to put the brackets for the lid in so I currently have no brackets on the lid. The bottom may slide in and out for cleaning but if it’s full of bedding you have to scoop out all the bedding first before pulling it out as well the bottom may clean up easy to wipe but the rest of the wood just soaks up the pee when they go. Wish I would have thought it through better before buying this cage because I don’t think I would have bought it.

Love love the look and functionality of the cage. My main issue, I thought having the pull out drawer would make it easier to clean but it’s not deep enough, so your bedding gets scraped to the back and falls out onto floor. Also, the wood is hard to clean, they need a varnish on it or something. Urine and any smushed poop leaves stain on wood

I liked the ease with which the product went together. It includes a screwdriver but ended up using my own because the handle of the little screwdriver kept moving. All the holes lined up, which was awesome, and the directions were easy to follow. Not complicated at all.Time will tell if this will be a great purchase, so far it is excellent!

I recently got talked in by my eight-year-old to buy a hamster went to Petsmart and bought a cage. It was terrible. Ran across this one on Amazon and I can’t say enough good things about it. I wish I could leave 10 stars very spacious easy install, and easy to view the hamsters I love it.

And I feel like a better hamster parent once I tossed that nightmare plastic contraption away. My little hamster now has more room to run about. I even got some extra little wooden ramps and bridges to add on the inside. You can decorate how you want. I wished I knew about this a few years ago. My hamster wasn't happy in his old plastic cage. Who would be? Now he's got plenty of light, he's more active and runs around, the slide out tray is nice to empty his droppings, easy to wash out and replace with fresh bedding. The shelves come right out for easy clean. He doesn't chew on any of the wood either. I approve. So does Henry, the hamster.
