This microscope has been a good educational toy for my daughter and complemented her school's theme of the month which was nature and science. The 2 inch high definition screen makes it easy for her to view the specimens she picks out and the 1000X magnification provides lots of detail. My daughter's favorite part about the microsocope was that it included a memory card that let her show off what she had seen to her classmates during show and tell. The microscope itself is built well and the base is stable. We have never run out of battery when using it either since the battery life is 1.5 hours. I would recommend this microscope to anyone looking for a kids microscope that's lightweight, filled with features, and fun to use.

I purchased this small kid friendly microscope for my great grandson. He loves it. We look at insects with it. It’s well made and holds up to a small child using it.

This is designed as a kid's portable microscope, but it actually works very well. The unit is a nice feeling plastic that although light, doesn't feel cheap. It can be used with its stand or on its own as a pocket microscope. They include some interesting slides, but the best part is the screen and the connectivity. The screen is bright enough and clear enough to be actually useful for looking at leaf and flower specimens. The adjustment knob was smooth and with just enough resistance to make fine adjustments easy. Connect it to your pc and you have a nice desk microscope for hobbies. You could even connect it to a projector in a teaching environment with the USB. The on-board SD recording lets you record and take footage and transfer it to your PC. The only reason I removed a star is that although it says 1000x, they don't inform you of the actual magnification amount. To change the magnification, you press the right button and the lower right corner shows which of the 4 preset magnification levels you're on. Not a deal breaker but be aware that that's how it operates. Otherwise this is a welcome addition to my desk clutter and a great tool for the amateur naturalist.
