I was hesitant on buying these because of the negative reviews about making the dumbbell handle too small to grip, pinching, and rubbing forearms. I decided to take a chance because I have dumbbells in all the 10 pound increments and desperately needed to add 5 pound increments. This was the perfect option.I’ve used these on weights from 15 pound dumbbells to 60 pound dumbbells. I’ll start by saying I have no complaints at all and I haven’t had any issues. Yes, they make the dumbbell handles smaller, but it’s not uncomfortable for me. On dumbbell bench and curl, the plates do rub my forearms slightly, but the mild discomfort is acceptable for me to have the 5 pound increments.Overall, these have functioned well for me. I’ve noticed a couple of the issues that others have mentioned, but the issues don’t really impact my workout. For the cost savings I’d much rather have these and deal with them. These things work awesome for me, but I’m sure everyone is different with different tolerances and setups. If you’re on the fence, buy them- they’re worth it.

They definitely aren't cheap, but they work great on my Eisenlink adjustable dumbbells as they only adjust in 10 pound increments.

I love the idea of these and they are well made, the finish on them is nice and they seem like they'd be very durable. The idea of cutting cost and saving space is very appealing. However after one set I'm returning them. I do not have large hands, my palms are 4 inches across. The plates are right up against my hands with my CAP dumbbells. They don't cut away from your hands like the bevel on the dumbbell weights so they rub on your forearms as you lift. The plates also slid on the handle causing it to pinch my skin.Maybe they'd work better if the handle on the dumbbell was wider or was designed to retain the plates. Not going to have a tailored fit like that with a generic product.Even if they worked perfectly, the cost is higher than it should be in my opinion.

Easy to add to dumbbells, well made but expensive.

depending on the type of dumbell you have, when you do heavy movement with dumbell you will often need to drop the weight onto the floor, when you do the plate can move around and will pinch the skin at the bottom of your thumb and often cut it open - if i knew this i wouldve gone for a plastic alternative instaead

I have been looking to buy an entire set of dumbbells for my home gym. Problem is that the cost is so high and space is definitely limited. I saw these dumbbell plates on Tik Tok and quickly realized that this set of dumbbell plates was the answer to both my problems. I only had to buy my new dumbbells in 10 pound increments. If I need a 25 pound dumbbell, then I just add Micro Gainz dumbbell clips to the inner grip of my 20 pound dumbbell. This invention cut the cost of my dumbbells in half and now I have eliminated the need for 10 more dumbbells in my weight room saving me precious space. The construction is insanely good. There looks to be a a tension spring built in to the plate. This spring allows the dumbbell plate to attach easily to the dumbbell and lock on securely. I was also concerned that my hands would be too big to attach the plates to the inner handle, but the plates are very low profile and there isn't any problem with space. The plates ship EXTREMLY fast. The packaging is top notch and the plates are very solid and durable. They are powdercoated for extra protection. I definitely believe in quality goods made in the USA. I'm proud to use these plates and I plan to order the 1.25lb version now too!

I custom built my ivanko rubber encased dumbbells, (50-100) In 10lb increments for space and cost, and got american barbell series 1 , (110-150) from a private sale, because pro dumbbells are extremely expensive. I mean were talking about $1000 or more a pair when they are commercial grade and are over100lb.I cannot express enough how extremely happy i am with my 2.5lb micro gains. Now i have (50-155) lb dumbbells in 5lb pound increments, quiet literally doubling the amount of dumbbells i own from 11 pairs to 22 pairs, but saves me a ton of space and thousands of dollars in expensive dumbbells. Not to endorse other products, but i love these micro gains because if i have my Mad Spotter hooks in the shoulder or incline position with the dumbbells resting on the hook, i can just increase the weight of my dumbbell without even having to unload and reload different heavy weight dumbbells on the hooks and lift them back up to hang which saves me time for more gains, money and my shoulders.Everyone's strength levels are different, but for me as a 5'7 182 lb male, anything over 130lb dumbbell is quite the challenge for me in the bench position. This severely helps me fill the gap because it becomes hard to jump 10lbs when im getting up in weight. I love them so much, i will be buying the 1.25lb version very very soon.Micro Gainz making an excellent product at a reasonable cost, even when the cost of steel was through the roof during covid.
