I have the tens, fives, 2.5s and the set of micro plates. They are all accurate in weight and a very good product. They are very thin, which is great. They look nice an overall I can’t recommend highly enough.

If you are into weight lifting, you will appreciate how important 5 lb (and smaller) weight plate is to incrementally take you to the next level. These plates are of good quality. The weight of each plate is also accurate (which is important for its function). I have already dropped them quite a few times and they hardly even scratched. You may be able to find cheaper alternatives but you will sacrifice quality.

Was a bit skeptical due to some unfavorable reviews, but I couldn't be happier. They are exactly what they are supposed to be. No finish issues, burrs, or blemishes.

In terms of quality, they're about what you'd expect from disks of steel. They're flat. They're more than consistent enough in weight for their intended purpose. They're probably less likely to chip or crack than cast plates - but I don't plan on dropping them on a hard floor to test that. The finish appears to be a heavy powder coat and is thick and even except on the inner rim where every plate has a "burr" of raised paint and a small bare spot - probably where they were hung up to be coated. That doesn't really bother me, since I'm used to weight plates needing some occasional clean-up and touch-up anyway after their finish chips and scuffs from use. But it may be an issue for people who want things to be perfect when they come out of the box. While these are definitely more expensive than regular cast plates would be outside of the current pandemic-driven run on exercise equipment, they do have one critical advantage over other plain weight plates beyond the fact that they're still available....Because they don't have any rim or recesses and have a greater diameter than common plates of the same weight, they're really thin. Just 1/4" for the 2.5 lbs plates. Which makes them good for getting more weight onto some non-barbell training implements than would otherwise be practical. In my case, I have a Kubuki Strength "ShouldeRök" loadable mace - which only has a short loadable area (~2" if you want to have the collar threaded all the way on, up to ~2.25" if you're okay with having it half-way threaded on). In normal times, I'd get some non-deep-dish plain-iron cast 10-lbs plates and mix those on with a 5 lbs and 2.5 lbs plate. But the 10s I have are too thick to load two of them securely, and these aren't normal times. So I got these. As an added convenience, because they're a bunch of little identical plates, I can quickly adjust loads without having to play change-making-algorithm games on a bar where every plate sits four feet from the end over which they can be removed. This is a small advantage, but it can be nice for warm-up sets or if you share equipment with other people in your household. Finally, while some may not like that the branding and weight labels are just stickers, I was quite happy to be able to quickly take them off with a heat gun without any residue being left behind. Then you can leave them plain, stencil on your own painted weight labels, or have fun with a blank slate to decorate according to whatever aesthetic you'd prefer for your gym.I also have a pair of actual 1.25 lbs micro-loading plates and a wooden bar jack from Micro-Gainz. These 2.5 lbs plates are a bit rough in comparison to those other products - but I appreciate that they've made something available for those of us who've had a hard time finding ordinary change plates or who have reason to want extra-thin plates.

Like many of you, I ordered these plates to get swoll. Think king Leonidas mixed with one of those dudes from that one movie where there are ripped dudes. They arrived in the mail, and my wife said "these are so cute!" But she will see her fault of words when I become an absolute animal 2.5 lbs at a time. Thanks microgainz.

Just got my 2.5 lb plates in today. Most places are out of barbell plates and this was the only thing missing in my plate collection for my home gym. Now I can properly go up 5 pounds at time instead of 10 pounds or more haha. They fit, they’re like regular plates. I’m not sure why anyone would ever give below 5 stars
