This really makes the bench stiff if you have a bench that is open on one end. Actually it should come with the bench. I do not think the bench alone would last long. When we do a shower we block around where the bench will mount with 2x6 or 2x8 before installing tile board. That way you have something solid to mount the bench. I cannot believe the bench would hold up long term with the chinxy anchors that come with the bench.
