I have a tire carrier that takes 2 NATO style jerry cans, but due to the design many cans don't clear the spout. These are 5 gallon metal cans that fit well do to a slightly lower opening on top of the can. They DO come with the CARB compliant spouts, so if you live outside of California you may want to add a better, more efficient spout to it.

It has a plastic screwn insert. I'm trying to remove it without breaking thw screen. But I think I'm going to have to take it out in pieces..

The company famous for the Jerry Cans of WW-2, owned this company. And had to modify for USA market. The stupid EPA regs force them reinvent the spout. Which is now plastic, the opening for the can is now round instead of oval. & does not have a locking lid. Just a screew on plastice cap.

Loved the metal can quality! I now have six of these - way better than plastic cans of any size. Standard supplied spout is fair, but I found the can, when paired with a long Ai racing spout, empties in under 30 seconds without leaks! A winning combination!

The cans are very well constructed. The main issue is that the pour spouts leak very bad. I purchased 4 cans for use around the farm and I now need to get new spouts.

Midwest Cans has married all the war winning attributes of the classic “Jerry Can” with a seamless, leak proof, plastic liner and a modern “easy pour” spout. This version retains the protected recessed metal seam of the original along with the stability enhancing “X” indentations on the sides. These are rather pricey gas cans but should last for many years.
