The MHRRCM is a protective cover for your remote receiver. The cover is not only attractive, but it also protects the electronics of the receiver from heat generated by your gas fireplace.
Installation Instructions:
Place the MHRRCM onto the remote control receiver. Make sure you have followed the recommended location of the receiver according to the manufacturer's/homeowner's manual. Failure to do so may cause overheating of your receiver and/or reduce the battery life due to the potential for a higher operating temperature. Make sure the insulation is in place and surrounds the remote receiver.
Note: Make sure that you do NOT route the reciver wiring near the burner, flame, or other high temperature surface.
*The MHRRCM does not make your receiver heat-proof. If provides additional protection, but you must still properly locate your remote receiver according to your appliance's instructions.

This is a really nice and handy cover for remote receivers in gas fireplaces. Some fireplaces tend to get really quite hot underneath and can overheat the receiver. This cover helps shield the receiver and keeps it much cooler.

Fit fine. Helped with overheating of the receiver but did not cure it. Even though it did not completely solve my issue, it was a good purchase.

It fits my firelog controller perfectly and quality looks good but it will probably be 2 years before I will know if it works. That is about how long it takes the heat to turn the controller brittle. The 5 stars are for good design that I do believe will work.
