I as curious about how well this tiny saw would perform.So far, so good. And it means i can get up on a ladder in a tree to remove some limbs without having to lug a great big heavy chain saw with me. This is going to be so much safer.

I bought this little saw for pruning shrubbery branches that were too thick for a hand pruner. This was in no way meant to clip hedges or any other large jobs. It worked well last summer when pruned a few a dead branches from an azalea and I did not use it again until this spring. Worked fine pruning out some hydrangea branches last week, but today, in the middle of pruning some taller hydrangeas, we couldn't get the thing to turn off. The lock was stuck and the off on switch was stuck in the on position. After we cut a few more branches...figured we'd just keep going since it wouldn't turn off...it did stop. Then when I tried locking it with the little plastic locking button, it turned back on. The thing is so screwed up and dangerous, we removed the battery, at our peril because we couldn't lock it, and it's going in the trash. At no time did we cut anything bigger than a two inch diameter branch. I'm going to look into a good pruning handsaw after this experience.

I am 72 year old woman and can not use a standard chain saw as it is too heavy for me. I bought this to cut small dead branches off my trees and for routine pruning. It is very light and easy to use. I found that it shredded the tiny branches that I typically cut easily with a small hand pruner, but did a terrific job on slightly larger branches that I would normally have to use a lopper for. As a result I could do the more difficult limb pruning so much easier and faster. I got tired of pruning before even the first battery wore out, so for me it is more than adequate. I was pleasantly surprised that it was better on the harder jobs. I really like it and find that my husband, age 80, is now taking it with him as he walks our property.

I started looking around for a mini chainsaw and there were lots to choose from. Reading reviews didn't make any one in particular stand out. There were many different packages that had different extras. So, I went to Google and searched from there, found an article from Popular Mechanics. They reviewed about 8 of these, and this Potenco model came in #2. I went back to Amazon and ordered this.It comes already assembled and ready to go.It comes with two batteries and a charger. I charged them both, but I've used it several times for what seems to be a lot of time, and so far I have not run the battery down.It also comes with an extra chain and 2 extra bars.It has a safety lockout switch for when you are not using it.It came with a bunch of other stuff that I personally don't need, but they are included such as a pair of safety gloves, and tools to use when you need to adjust or change the chain or bat.Minor drawbacks: The batteries do not have a battery life indicator on them, so you don't know when it running low and need to charge.It is a 4 inch blade which is perfect for my needs. There is little to no kickback when cutting unless you don't have it positioned well on the branch you are cutting.It also comes with a tiny plastic bottle with no directions, but knowing how chain saws need chain oil, I assumed that is what it is for, but it was so small, it would be difficult to fill and use, so I used a larger bottle with a nozzle. Oil was not provided with the package.Overall, I love this thing.
