On my first attempt to try to stretch the rubber band I didn't even get it.Wide enough to fit the unit.And it already popped the rest of the unit is exactly as pictured

I ordered this darning loom because I had one with the round disk and wanted a longer platform. I couldn't find a platform alone, so I purchased the loom and platform even though I already had a loom. The platform is fine and I can use it with my other, more functional loom. Good thing, because the hooks on this one are terrible. They are nearly impossible to move from side to side and the ends are both sharp and rough, so they will catch and split any yarn or thread used to darn. I ended up throwing this loom in the trash because of the dangerously sharp edges. If I had realized I needed a platform when I bought the original loom, I would have purchased one of the sets that has a disk and a platform--they are around if you do your research. Lesson learned!
