Confirm the Port Model Before Purchase

Note:

1) This is not a bi-direction cable. It works only from the Mini DisplayPort source to VGA out. It cannot convert a VGA source to Mini DisplayPort out.

2) The Mini displayport to vga adapter cable does not support audio output function, sound can only be played back from computer internal speakers.

3)Supported resolutions and refresh rates depend on the specifications of the Mini DisplayPort host devices and connected displays. For example, if your Mini DisplayPort device supports 1080P@60Hz, while the connected display only supports 720P@30Hz, you can output 720P@30Hz rather than 1080P@60Hz.

I've been using this cord for years to connect my old mac book pro to equally old monitors. Not sure why apple thought I'd need two of these ports but once I found this plug to convert to VGA, I've used them constantly. Plug slides right in nice and smooth, and I've never had a problem with display glitches.
