How To Put the Mini Pig Harness and Leash on Your Pet Pig
Step 1
QUICK TIPS:
Make Gradual Introductions
Introduce the mini pig harness and leash gradually. Allow your pet pig to sniff and investigate the gear before attempting to put it on.
Start Indoors
Begin harness and leash training in a familiar, enclosed, indoor space with fewer distractions for your pet pig than outside.
This will help them feel safe and secure before embarking on the outdoors.
Use Positive Reinforcement & Verbal Cues
Use treats and a verbal cue such as "harness" to reward your pet pig for putting on the harness.
Positive reinforcement creates a positive association with the process while saying "harness" will help them learn what you are teaching them to do.
Step 2
PRO TIP:
Consistent, short training sessions (about 10 minutes long) are more effective than long ones.
It may take 2-3 training sessions before your mini pig will happily allow you to harness them - especially when dealing with a new piglet. Your pig may only let you get one loop on (around their body) on day one, and that's totally okay!
Be patient with your pig during the training process.
The more you train, the more your pig becomes accustomed to the process.

What is cooperative care? Simply put, cooperative care is training and caring for your pet pig in a way that prioritizes building a
relationship of trust and mutual respect between you and your pet pig.
Cooperative care for mini pigs is a lot like obedience training for
dogs - it involves specific commands and desired behaviors, but it goes beyond that.
It's about establishing a deeper, more meaningful connection between you and your mini pig.
In nature, pigs are social animals living in hierarchical structures with clear leaders and followers.
When you bring a pig into your home, you become a part of their social group. They instinctively look to you for guidance and leadership. Keep this in mind when introducing and harness training your new piglet!
Step 4 + 5
SETTING BOUNDARIES + HEIRARCHY:
By setting clear boundaries and expectations, you establish yourself as a reliable leader in your pet pig's eyes. When your pig respects these boundaries, it learns to respect you. It will follow your lead, resulting in a well-behaved and cooperative pig.
Since a pig's natural tendency is to always fight for the position of leader (or "top hog"), you must
stand firm as their owner to not let this happen. Using the method of cooperative care will help you establish yourself as their leader. If your pet pig doesn't view you as a dependable leader, they
might challenge you, leading to aggressive and bossy behavior. Cooperative care and training equip you with the tools to instill the manners in your pet pig that promote a harmonious, lasting living environment.
Enrichment through harness training is a vital aspect of ensuring the happiness of these intelligent animals, which directly translates to happy and satisfied pet pig owners.

Unless your piggy is perfectly trained,becareful it can back out of this one i still use it but not in the way it was designed because it is strong enough

I was hesitant at first to purchase but overall it works great. We have a mini pot belly pig and it fit him very good, it just slips over his legs and neck and it doesn't come loose. The size of it is adjustable so it can adjust around his neck however for bigger pigs I would recommend more slack be aded to the leash. It holds piggy in even when he tries to run away full force. It tightens when the leash is pulled so he won't slip away. I would definitely recommend!!

Nice quality and very easy to train my pig to enter the harness/lead. So far it has been quite secure. He hasn't escaped yet. Just take a couple minutes to examine how it works so you pull the correct ropes for a snug fit. Video how to really helps.

I have 3 pigs, small medium and large. This has been able to easily handle all of them, even the very angry 175lb pig. If you're a pig owner, I'd highly recommend keeping one of these on hand.I wouldn't mind the attachment leather being thicker or even more reinforced, but as is it is just fine.

It fit my larger girl perfectly. She is over a year old. It went on easy and comes off easy. If on right, there is no way she can get out. If they pull it tightens. I have been trying her the last week and she will now nudge it to ask for a walk. It's good quality and great value for the money. I would buy again if I had to.

This is a very well made product. Very easy to put on. Only downfall is the leash and harness is all one piece. I’d like to be able to disconnect the leash from the harness
