These are easy to set up and use. They have a decent range, and a long run time on a set of batteries. We use rechargeable batteries, so just have to keep fresh batteries in the charger. The controls are easy enough for even a 4 year old to become a radio pro.Fun toy, and they keep the kids attention and help get them outside to play. The kids love them!

Gave this as a gift to my nephews over the last week. They had an absolute blast running around the house, and outside, playing with the radio/walkie-talkies.From a range standpoint, they worked all around a medium-sized house and outside without any issues. I didn't have the kids try to see how far they would work, but if you are looking for a radio set like this and these are within your price-range I would highly recommend.

First off these walkie talkies are great for children. My 7 & 8 year olds love using them everyday. I was surprised by the range, which is more than enough for children ( we've tested at about 1 & 1/2 miles. They take 3 AAA batteries & last a long time. Build quality is okay for the price. The belt clip rotates 360 degrees, the clarity is great & it has plenty of functions but easy enough for children to figure out & use. Highly recommend for children.

My daughter loves this cute Walkie Talkie! Very impressive range, we can communicate with each other indoors at the opposite ends of a large building, or rather long distance outdoors on a hiking trip. Installing battery is easy by flipping the clip to the right. The sound is crystal clear with good volume.

These are a set of two adorable little “space man” walkie talkies. I received blue ones. They are initially very lightweight but after adding 4 AAA batteries to each walkie talkie they feel more substantial. They easily fit into an adult’s hand but also would not be too cumbersome for a child. I did not expect all of the features included in this set, especially at such an affordable price. The last set of kid’s walkie talkies I tried a while back had two or three buttons and lacked clarity in transmissions. Kids being kids will no doubt have no trouble figuring these out but I went through the directions to set up and test them before I gift them for Christmas.Parents can set the walkie talkies up and lock out the functionality of most buttons, if desired. This will help make it a simpler device and prevent picking up and hearing transmissions coming through from other channels in use within range.The illuminated LCD screen provides information about the status of each device. A flashlight is also featured on the device to add to the fun.Devices are set to the same channel (22 to choose from). To further prevent outside users from accessing your channel activate the CTCSS to select a sub-channel (99 to select from). The directions provide more information about this.A Monitor feature checks for weaker signals in the currently selected channel. The “Talk” button is pressed to transmit voice but the radio can also be set to allow voice activated transmission with three different sensitivity levels to choose from. The “Talk” button also serves as an “Enter” button when setting up various features on these radios. Reception volume is adjusted by the crescent shaped buttons on either end of the front control panel.The Scan button allows one to scan for activity on radio channels 1 through 22. Ten different call tones are featured to alert others that you will begin talking. Just press the Call button.The key tones are loud but there is the option to disable the tones included. A “Roger” beep sounds upon release of the talk button to confirm one has stopped talking. This tone may be disabled, too.When we tested, one of us was on the second floor and the other just outside the house and communication was easy at this range. We didn’t test range further away from the house since that would have meant getting drenched. It was raining cats & dogs outdoors.Finally, a battery saving function feature is activated after 6 seconds of non-use. A switch to the standard non-economy mode happens automatically when an incoming signal is detected.I always wanted walkie talkies when I was a kid and these were a lot of fun for me to try out. They are simply a great toy that encourages social interaction and is not a cell phone, tablet or computer.

We saw this item, while looking for something for our great nephew who seems to have everything (which seems to be the norm for kids these days). These walkie talkies looked impressive, and the price was right, so we took a chance. As soon as we put the batteries in, and tried out these units, my wife and I had so much fun, we may decide to keep them for ourselves! Also, for low-cost walkie talkies, they are loaded with all kinds of features you would find in more expensive units. Sound quality is crystal clear, and impressive range. Highly recommend these units to anyone who is looking to for something to be a big hit this holiday season.

I recently purchased these walkie-talkies, and they have been fantastic! The range is impressive, even when we took them on a small hike. These are cute walkie talkies perfect for my 3 and 6 year old!They take 4 AAA batteries and are a bit tricky to get in with the belt clip there. Instructions say to take belt clip off but I couldn't get clip off I was able to get batteries in without taking it off.They work perfectly and pretty good range. Recommend for a fun gift for kids!
