Low-profile design leaves deck clear when motor is removed. Locking handle with stainless steel pins can be secured with padlock (padlock not included, sold separately).NOTE: Not for use with any 112 lbs. thrust motors or any motor with a shaft length of 72” or longer. Instead use the MKA-53 model.

As advertised. Shipping was quick. Installation was very easy. I needed a quick disconnect for my 80lbs Thrust Terrova and this worked great. One bar to pull out and the motor is off.

This fit my new production Motorguide Xi3 without any modifications. Perfect bolt on fit. I preferred this mount over the Motorguide for the ability to lock it. Works great overall. Easy to remove or mount the trolling motor.

First off I rated the install 4 stars because depending on your boat it can be very difficult and require some modification to your boat. I have a Tracker Pro 170 and where this had to mount was virtually impossible with the size hole tracker made to mount anything on the bow. So I had to make the hole bigger without hurting the integrity of the boat. Anyway as for the mount, it is really sturdy and definitely makes it so nice to remove the motor when storing the boat and putting the cover on. The directions were very clear and easy to understand. I used shorter bolts for the pad that mounts to the boat because of the difficulty of trying to reach the forward most bolt, I didn't have the time or patience to be ratcheting for 15 minutes. DO NOT USE AN IMPACT DRIVER!!! I state this because I am really good with tools, however when using this tool to speed up your process, it overheats the ny-lock nut to a point that it won't go on or come off. I had to purposely break the bolt. Thankfully I had spares from my new trolling motor install package. As many have reviewed I too had to drill the holes a little for the u-handle to pass completely through. Maybe a suggestion would be to have them slightly larger to begin with since tightening the pad to the bow throws it of just a tad. So far great product, took the boat out recently and no issues. Time will tell on durability. I live in Az. so the heat is always a killer to everything. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Worked great with 80lb Terrova. Fit is tight with no movement at all. Installation wasn't too bad, once I had the motor mounted, I used tape to mark the location on the bow, then used the template, which is actually printed on the inside of the box.My only complaint would be the lack of security this mount provides. Only a small pad lock will fit on the provided pin. But I guess locks only keep honest people honest. All in all I am very glad I went this way instead of mounting straight to the boat.EDIT:Had an issue. Hit a submerged tree branch with trolling motor, my fault. The issue is, because all the torque and forces on the motor mount are concentrated on that small block that is bolted to boat instead of being spread across the entire motor, it cracked the aluminum bow plate in 4 places.I'm not blaming Minn Kota, just wanted to share what happened.

I have to start off by saying this bracket is amazing. I put this on a 45lb thrust 48" shaft powerdrive V2 and mounted it on the bow of my pontoon. It is extremely solid and doesn't let the motor wiggle at all.For me, It was well worth it for the extra 15-20 bucks over the MKA-16. I use my pontoon as much or more for pleasure as I do fishing so having as small a footprint as possible was important. The "puc" piece that is left behind is only 4"x6" and is very low profile so it won't interfere with any foot traffic. It is also very smooth and rounded edges so won't hurt peoples feet.Mounting: If you read enough reviews about this mount you will notice that some people have problems with mounting on carpet. This mount has very small tolerances and needs to mount together VERY flush to work properly. I mounted on carpet and did not have any troubles. Actually, my mount was on carpet AND also went over the aluminum lip on the edge of my pontoon's bow. This caused the mount to be angled up ever so slightly. The key to this? Get yourself a dozen zinc flat washers and a dozen rubber washer. Mine were 5/16" inside diameter, the bolts are 1/4". Use the zinc washers to get you close to the height you need and top off with a few rubber washers to both dampen vibrations and give you the tiniest bit of wiggle room. I didn't use all of the washers, probably 6-8 of each so a dozen my be too many. Your mileage may vary.Cons: Yes, the locking pin handle is plastic with a big 'ole hole in the middle. If you grab the middle of this handle and use it to insert/remove these pins repeatedly, IT WILL BREAK. This is well documented in many reviews. Grab the end near each pin and pull that way. I have read other reviews where people have attached small rope or string to assist them....very smart. This is the only reason I removed a star for review. How simple would it be for minn kota to fab a solid steel piece or maybe use individual pins with locking cables. I can literally think of 20 different ways this could have been done better.Overall, excellent product with one very minor flaw.

Works perfectly with my Terrova. Allows me to remove the motor when not in use so it can be kept safe.

I mounted this on to a Lowe 1448 and it works great. I rigged a mount for a transom mount endura 40lb with the head turned around, which took about about the same amount of space as this one, and definitely enjoy the more professional look and better maneuverability now that I have a 55lb V2 on it. I have a round gunwale upfront that sits about an inch above the deck I installed. I mounted the puck to a piece of carpeted 1X8 that I mounted down to the deck and it allows the mount to sit perfectly over the gunwale and I have no issues deploying the motor. I agree with another reviewer that Minn Kota must have been paying attention because I don't have an issue putting in or pulling out the handle. I did notice that if the outer base is not completely flush with the puck that it will give you a hard time pushing it in. It could be off by less than a mm on one side and the metal pin will slide up against the plastic giving you a good amount of friction. The handle could be of higher quality but that's really the only gripe I have about this mount. Overall it does what its supposed to and does a great job at it.
